I saw an f250 getting towed from fulford yesterday. Make of that what you will.

That’s totally normal and expected. What’s your point?

The five tonne had to be towed by the ferry, first.

When someone complains about inefficiency, I remind them we have the Gulf Islands.

Yeah, same.

We were on the ferry today with a couple from Bowen island, where they have the Trust and a municipal government. “Be careful what you wish for” came up once or twice.

Why? Hyundai and Kia have been comparable in price and quality to Honda and Toyota now for a decade +.

Their perception is still very low.  You can say it's undeserved, or it's irrational, but it's also true.

I have a friend with a Hyundai. It is -not- Toyota quality, not by a mile.

Neither are Audis or VWs. My dentist bought his wife an Audi and calls it very nasty words.

Tesla has taken home several Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards, including a dominating performance in the Luxury Brand category where the Texas-based automaker won four of the six available awards.

Savage.

But between 2019 and 2022, groups of Tesla employees privately shared via an internal messaging system sometimes highly invasive videos and images recorded by customers’ car cameras, according to interviews by Reuters with nine former employees.
Some of the recordings caught Tesla customers in embarrassing situations. One ex-employee described a video of a man approaching a vehicle completely naked.
Also shared: crashes and road-rage incidents. One crash video in 2021 showed a Tesla driving at high speed in a residential area hitting a child riding a bike, according to another ex-employee. The child flew in one direction, the bike in another. The video spread around a Tesla office in San Mateo, California, via private one-on-one chats, “like wildfire,” the ex-employee said.

I can see, in future, property owners banning vehicles that film on their private property without their permission, and that means, if your vehicle has passive recording, it won’t be allowed to enter.

What type of private property? Parking lots? Soon every car will have cameras.

Every new car sold in Canada must have at least one, now.

Any private property owner that doesn't want someone recording video footage while on their property.

Teslas are great cars for voyeurs and creeps. You can park it, and sit back and watch the footage from all around the vehicle, from a distance. You can use them to spy on people, monitor their property, and their habits, all from your phone.

And so can Tesla employees.

There are some good vids on home made EMPs…. I would not count on government banning any intrusion on our privacy. The “TicTok ban” isn’t even that. It’s the reverse. The cameras are only going to increase. Same with Tesla sales so might as well buy more stock.

Look to China’s social credit system to understand where we are headed. We are in the shallow end right now. My Etsy shop for instance. It controls me via its “star seller” system. If I’m not a good seller as defined by their rules I lose my star. It works. So I like Mikes idea. A product that forces cameras to be disabled somehow. Can be installed by private entities.
