Over the years I have been asked more than once why I didn't follow my dad into media; with all the "consolidation" especially in radio and upheavals in print I always maintained it was the right decision. More "rationalization" announced today at Postmedia:

It does seem that 20+ years after the emergence of the commercialized web, much of the print media - newspapers - still haven't figured out how to adapt and survive/thrive in the digital era. Looking at Postmedia's financial situation per this article, their future looks mighty grim.
