Clipper is hiring crews for their new Vancouver run next year. Did I say that already? Oh, maybe I did in the Clipper thread.

Clipper is hiring crews for their new Vancouver run next year.
They could shanghai the V2V crew, or have they already pre-clipped some of them?

Canadian National Tourism award nominee V2V Vacations!
"The Tourism Industry Association of Canada, which hands out the CTAs, recently named its 2017 finalists in a number of categories and included two companies and one campaign based in Victoria to the lists.
Whale watching and eco-tourism company Eagle Wing Tours is a top-three finalist in the Air Canada Business of the Year category. V2V Vacations, whose harbour-to-harbour ferry service between Victoria and Vancouver remains suspended due to ship technical problems, is up for the VISA Canada Innovator of the Year honour."

Really adds new meaning to the word innovator.

We understand it's to the 15th of October at least now.
Now it's mid December just in time for the Christmas shopping in Vancouver.
The colourful V2V Vacations Empress ferry is expected to be ready for service by about mid-December, once new engines have been installed.
A new service update on the ferry — which was hauled out of the water in August — states: “The V2V leadership team has resolved to replace both of the ship’s engines, which will provide increased reliability and speed for the vessel, and recognize the urgent need to do so as soon as practicable.”

Initial fares to be $50 for the first week back. And they still think they will have a second ship by summer 2019.
And they have cool banners for the engines!

They can probably save that duct tape for the next repair.

Here's a look at the old engines. They were pulled many months ago and have sat under tarps.
They are simply pieces of junk, now fully exposed to the elements, the tarps have been removed and if it rains today....
It looks like they were not rebuilt before the V2V launch:

The heard the starboard engine had some inside parts that decided to leave when they weren't supposed to.
I think it's the last photo in the previous post.

The new engines have arrived. From "overseas" Black Press says. But does not say where they came from. I should not have to point out that items you include in a headline or sub-headline must be explained in the story body.
But it's not here.

Does mean they came from Vancouver - over the Salish Sea?

Everything on an island comes from overseas. I believe the engines came from the US of A.

Everything on an island comes from overseas...
Even if that island is in the middle of a lake?

Today's CBC article says they came from the southern US. And it also says it'll be the end of December before it runs. Maybe in time for the "busy holiday season". Ya, in the busy holiday season you usually take your car, to move packages around.

Pivot point:
V2V is moving its base to Victoria, the ship will now overnight here when it starts back up.
I'm scratching my head a little bit. What's the larger market, taking BC residents and tourists here for a day or night, or taking Victoria residents and tourists over there for a day or more?
But Clipper's Vancouver ship is coming, that might be the bigger worry for them.

Let's see some killer packages! Canucks, Katy Perry etc.
Canucks play 44 or more home games, and have extra tickets for all of them. Can V2V not get 250 people onboard with a cool package?
