Those underpaid MLA's and government workers can't afford to travel via V2V.

Why not, it is not their money. On any given day work day a large percentage of Helijet and Harbour Air travellers are Government employees.

^Oh, wow. Yeah, that's terrible. Only two sucky prizes that don't really cost them anything.
Come to think of it, I need a new roof on my house. What I'll do is invite Parker Johnson, ProLine and a few other companies to each install 20 square feet of roofing. Then I will judge who did the best job. The winner gets a month worth of free room and board in my house.

Can David Foster be hauled out yet again?V2V has announced a jingle contest. So now they probably have not only artists but musicians upset.

I'm assuming this is the same marketing team that devised the Dominion Rocket's brilliant scheme of awarding you a genuine postcard in return for giving them $25.

Without a doubt, however, the sappiest of them all was the strings-heavy “Follow The Birds” by Ken Garland, recorded for the B.C. Ferry Corporation in 1966. (Lyrics: Just follow the birds, to the city of beauty / A ferryboat glides away to an island that’s called paradise. / Where the wind through the oaks / and the cry of the gulls / Sing a song of the sea / Victoria: remember, tenderly.)

Although I hate cheap spec contests I hate seeing floundering marketing more. Here's some free marketing advice:
You can't just have two prizes. You need a third prize and a bunch of runner up prizes to make entering worthwhile.
So: third prize is a 3rd class trip for two, no hotel; fourth is 2nd class, fifth is third class ( I don't know the prices because the V2V website is broken).
Sixth prize is V2V merch; jacket, vest, t-shirt, lanyard. etc.
Everyone who enters gets a cheapie gift: travel mug; lanyard etc.
Really, VHF thinks up this stuff in his sleep.
Or, they could always license an existing tune. This is one of my favourite '80s songs:
We're setting sail to the place on the map
From which no one has ever returned
Drawn by the promise of the joker and the fool
...
You will pay tomorrow
You're gonna pay tomorrow
You will pay tomorrow

Keep in mind these are the same folks who thought sticking flyers under windshield wipers in the legislative precinct was a great way to reach their target market.

Incidentally, those are some very seriously dark windows. I mean, really dark. It would sure make a grey, dreary day a rather dismal way to spend 3.5 hours.
