It’s probably terrible, I have AC and it’s still 22-25c in my unit. South facing. At least that’s 10-13c less than outside..

22-25c is reasonably comfortable (for me).  Our current house (no AC but sits in shade of more 20 trees) upstairs is about 29c, downstairs is about 24c.  Sounds like our west facing unit in Wade would be close to 30c (if not over) right now. Would likely need a AC to sleep there for sure.

Thanks for your reply and TC.

I hope you’re right. For my SFH fortis account I pay monthly to keep it connected. $11-13 or so per month plus usage.

I will double check with Fortis next week.  Thanks.

My Wade Fortis bill has a “delivery charge” of about $6 per 15 days. Hadn’t noticed before. Haven’t cooked much the last month and thought it was weird my bill was about $30 so I checked

Do the condos in the Wade have central air.

Haha, you aren't going to get central air if you have baseboard heating.  But you could possibly create your own inside your unit (by adding a heat pump unit?) , if it is allowed.

I imagine that they must be rather warm with this weather.

All this talk about the inside, and it takes an outsider.. to uh.. take picture of the obvious OUTSIDE change I noticed this morning on my walk to get a giant watermelon.

I hope newly installed turf can withstand the heat. Yes, there is turf on all three sides but due to extreme heat you’re only getting pics of one.

Hm, guess there is always the option to change the cooktop into an induction one?  And say goodbye to gas BBQ and Fortis?

Well that’s too bad. There shouldn’t be an individual fee per unit when you can barely use the monthly fee in actual gas.

Is there a huge bank of gas meters somewhere?

The irritating thing is we were told by Joanne (sales for the Wade) before we bought that the gas was going to be paid by the strata, and that it doesn't make sense to individually meter each unit for the small amount of gas being used. We were shocked to find out after closing that the gas was being metered individually. If you read the disclosure statement it says that hydro is being metered and billed separately, but doesn't say that gas will be. We discussed with a lawyer, but for the $15 a month in delivery fees it would take many lifetimes to equal the cost of the legal fight.

Which are gas-operated appliances in Wade, besides the cooktop and balcony BBQ?  How about the washer/dryer/oven/dishwasher?  Are they run by hydro or gas?  Thanks!

The oven is part of the cooktop (both are gas).

Gas-powered dishwashers and washing machines disappeared generations ago, I'm afraid.

Gas-powered washing machines remain common in the US, and you can still purchase new ones there...

any white spirit or reaming lubricant works.  better wear gloves though.  if you thought dishpan hands were bad.
