Per the latest article:

The Wade’s foundation – literally and figuratively – is in the form of a publicly accessible urban green space serving as a zone of solitude in an otherwise bustling part of the city.

Any other details on the courtyard being publicly accessible? I always just assumed it would only be open to residents. The gate to it that's installed on the Pandora side has a fob reader on it, so is the idea that it will only be publicly accessible during the day?

A little birdie told me the Wade will be home to be Canada's first rooftop Safeway. It does seem like the safe way to do grocery shopping during a pandemic and fewer shoplifters to deal with. Apparently they are already growing produce on the roof and cultivating honey as well.

Zoomer’s photo confirms that the new building will have a new address of 1411 Cook St and thus will not share a Pandora address with the north building as originally stated. Thanks for the update, let’s have an Admin update this for accuracy in the profile.

Yah this is usually a fire code thing, it's preferred (if not required?) that the building address be off the street where the main entrance is

They had another city inspection last Thursday...  I'm guessing it wasn't good news or they could have communicated it in the letter?  What about the safety aspects required by the city?  Surely these are predictable?  Would be nice if we could get a realistic update on when we would be moving in versus their hopes or nothing at all  :whyme:

This update is very annoying. I have purchased in the north building and it seems to say “North is completed!” but no completion date. Very hard to predict when I need to end my current lease and have my mortgage completion dated for..

100% this.  I suspect the reason they can't give a date is because the city has to sign off on it, and it is contingent on things like all sidewalks being complete.  I wonder if the city is leaning towards not doing a phased occupancy and the Wade team just doesn't want to communicate bad news.  It would make it easier though to secure contingent housing for those of us that need to live here or find alternative accomidation!

it's likely they just can't get a straight answer from the city.

but it's nearly impossible to time your move perfectly from a rental to a brand new building that requires an occupancy permit from the city.  the uncertainty should have been built into your plans.  paying one extra month of rent at your current place also comes with the nice relief of a slow leisurely move on your own schedule.
