Good to hear. It bugs me when unofficial VV photographers don't take their responsibilities seriously. It would be ideal if you guys would make the rounds daily at 6am, so you have some time to post the pics before the rest of us get online to check.

I don’t see why Mike hasn’t yet considered to put Zoomer on the payroll. What ever happened to VHF?

I like the idea of being on the VV payroll one day - maybe I can be the downtown roving reporter..

Anyways, in the meantime as per PK’s request, how’s this for a turn around time. Pics from a couple hours ago. Not really a lot to comment on other than some clear progress, but a lot still do as well. VIHA space doesn’t appear to have changed, some parking is nearly in place, and some progress on sidewalk, or at least sidewalk prep. Lots of balconies still needing the metal siding, for some reason I thought they were going glass on the Johnson street side, but that’s wrong.

Really captures that East Berlin feel.

It can get boring. The Rover beat involves a lot of predictable "dog bites man" stories.

There are actually more man bites dog stories nowadays. I think ‘Victoria man’ is giving ‘Florida man’ a run for his money.

Our weekly weekend update would be nice, Zoomer :)

Hopefully they’ve made some more progress with the sidewalk. Any idea if they’ve done anything at all with the interiors of the south wing, or has that effort been completely and entirely abandoned until they can collect the purchasers dollars for the north building...

Asking for a friend

On the waiting list for a Pixel 5 from Shaw, so with the wide angle will finally be able to get some better building pictures. So, what’s new this week. Well, the metal balcony fittings are finally going in facing Johnson street. Other than that, not sure I see much change. You can see the pics of the south building facing Johnson that the kitchen cabinets and a countertop are waiting in one suite to be installed, and you can see the kitchen exhaust vent exposed in a few suites waiting for the install. On the Pandora side on the ground floor there is a large industrial fan blowing, perhaps ventilation for clear some chemical application? No progress on sidewalks, the curb side lane is closed for two blocks for weeks now, so that explains some of the traffic congestion on Cook. Also looks like the sidewalk repair is very extensive, going right to the roadside. I’m guessing that was unexpected, and mandated by the city, we may hear about that in a future update to purchasers. Anyways, a reasonable guess for occupancy in the north building might be January, but who knows.

Ok, this time unlike my Ming’s foreground photo, I’ll pay attention to see if there is a clue, or even a sign of what’s to come...

Nope, don’t see anything. I’D A better analyze these pics in greater detail when I have more time.

Can we take a moment to remember that goofy proposal for this very spot? Do you remember it?

Barely.. I think it left the parking lot still?

I'm convinced the negative "New Coke" feedback on that proposal was instrumental in scuttling it not long after the plan was made public.

I think the concept I'm talking about involved just the parking lot. In my exaggerated recollection I remember it as being just a single story, but it might have been two stories. But it really was a lame little building, very strange. If somebody could wake Mike K. he might be able to find it for us.

Would have been as out of place as that wood frame condo just past Ming's on Johnson, but I digress.
