Two bed unit just listed for $779.9k.
I see the listing.
I also see the chicken wire cages they pass off as storage lockers. Realistically speaking, when you've spent (tens of?) millions building the place, how much more expensive would it be to include proper storage lockers like these ones pictured in this ebay listing?
I really don't understand the mentality behind things like this.

I think it might actually be a 3 bedroom and isn't labelled correctly. It appears to be this floorplan:

Every condo/apartment I've lived in uses that same style of wire cages for storage, I don't think I've ever seen "proper" ones like that.

Thieves will get in one way or another with a pair of wire cutters, one locker costs hundreds to repair, the other costs $5.37.

chicken wire lockers prevent theft and damage. since you can easily see what’s in them those that leave no valuables in them experience no losses to theft.
What's the point of storage if you can't keep anything of value in them?

With all the break-ins of storage lockers I just assumed these cages were earmarked as storage for bums.
So that's where I will be storing my excess TP.
Any recommendations? I heard most bums prefer Charmin.

put in security cameras with a live feed to channel 88 in suites. plus a hard drive. theft will go to zero as long as you maintain the cameras.
The bad guys just smile for the camera.
I'm sorry, storage like this just smacks of mediocrity. Put some decent closet space in each unit.

Disagree. They're also a great place to store old fitness gadgets that you never use anymore because they broke or otherwise never really worked as advertised.

also as general rule you can store anything in your locker that corner stores feature on outside display or big box retailers leave outside overnight.
so peat moss and flowers. maybe some presto logs.

There must be a reason for the wire lockers. At least these are more than chicken wire (yes, I’ve seen that).
I was being a little dramatic with the chicken wire comment, but realistically it's hardly any more secure.
It's cheap to purchase and install, and buyers don't seem to be demanding better storage for their empty TV boxes and broken kitchen appliances they can't be bothered to take to the recyclers.
There's not a snowball's chance in hell I'd be keeping my winter tires, tools and hobby materials in one of these cages.

isn't it at least partly to let the sprinklers sprinkle stuff if there is a fire? lots of people store nasty junk in there like paint.

There could be security reasons for it, and safety reasons. You can’t easily hide in those rooms and a couple of cameras will catch all lockers.
One building I looked at had conventional steel doors for the lockers. I did note that the separation between the lockers was chain-link fencing however, but nothing a sheet of plywood wouldn't fix and then hey, you have shelving!
And each was sprinklered...
