I noticed there was no kind of common building bulletin board - I was hoping to maybe put up a note about renting someone’s parking spot

isn’t that a bit of an antiquated way to get information out? surely e-mail is better?

in any event if the residents do decide to have a bulletin board, put it down by the garbage bins. I think having them in the lobby or near the elevators is bush league.

I doubt residents would allow an email list to be made (I would not subscribe).
I liked that the Mondrian had a separate, off the lobby, mail-hallway with the board tucked away

What's wrong with an email list? Why wouldn't residents allow it and why wouldn't you subscribe?

What about a strata web page with online repository of meeting minutes and an online bulletin board of some sort?

The only way I imagine the email list would be useful is if anyone could email something, which I think would be abused and get annoying. Otherwise strata emails are perfectly fine.

Don’t residents eventually create groups online where messages can be exchanged among owners who sign up? That seems like a good way to keep up on the up and up without waiting on the strata.

You still have to have a bulletin board because some dude is in the lobby trying to take his new sofa up to the fourth and the elevators are being serviced and you say to him didn't you get the email saying the elevators were being serviced today and the guy says I just started renting here, I don't sign up for no stupid email and who reads emails now anyway, obviously you ya stupid boomer now how am I gonna get this f*uckin' thing up four flights of stairs.

Nextdoor seems to be a popular one for neighbourhood associations, but I'm not sure if you can do it for a single building. Facebook is probably the likely host of groups. I seem to remember that there's even a specific group for dog owners at 1008 Pandora!

But yah, a bulletin board in a high traffic area is always nice.

Next door works well, and inside it you can have groups, so you could have a Wade Owners group.

And you can buy and sell stuff and post notices.

I'm sure you could squat in a spot belonging to a South Building suite for say 90-120 days? Might be worth asking David P.

Today we got word that our apartment has been delayed yet again... ‍♂
If you didn’t already know, Leah and I have been living with our parents (alternating between each) for the last 7 months. We moved out in May with an estimated occupancy date of July. Needless to say, that didn’t happen...This has been a string of delayed deadlines with this project that has been going on for over 3 years. We have made a video about this whole thing on our channel in the past explaining how this all happened but a long story short... you can expect more content from Leah’s family home for the next little while.

Maybe we can get Zoomer down here this weekend for an update. I hope there has been steady progress with the sidewalk and remaining balcony panels.

Zoomer, while you’re down there please head over to snap some pics of the new firehall pit. We have not had an update on that one in quite some time.

I don't see any strata plan filing yet.... so safe to say it will likely be a few more weeks at very best for that to be registered and completions to begin to occur....

As an unknown YouTuber myself this is cool. Here is the video (title is a bit of click bait, pretty fair video) -> https://www.youtube....h?v=0RQH997uh_w

They never mention that while they waited, interest rates fell by a large margin, and have fallen since they made their video, too.

In the long run they’ll be way ahead through those savings, plus the equity they’ll soon realize.

They also acknowledge how difficult it is for them to get a mortgage. Yup, it can be quite a challenge.

Is there something seriously wrong here?  Like bankruptcy, or a serious architectural flaw?  Is there something we're missing?

After months and months of delays similar to this, as Levi described in the video, we're on the cusp of moving in.  Anne, the interior designer and updater, tells us things will be signed off and submitted to the city this week.  And yet again, they are nowhere close.

What is happening?

I walked by on Thursday and as far as I can tell, no progress has been made on the sidewalks or balcony panels. They seem to be focused on pouring concrete in front of the commercial section of the north annex.

Here’s the prep for concrete mentioned by scotto203, and a couple others. They have torn out the temporary asphalt sidewalk in preparation for the real thing. Still looks to be a few metal balcony plates still to install.
