My unit in the Mondrian was actually very good for sound! I generally didn’t hear any noise from neighbours. Didn’t realize there was a common noise concern for that building.Did you say you lived at the Mondrian? Worse than that?

I could take some pics but it’s just from an iPhone. Sidewalk and south building? I can’t remember if Zoomer said they weren’t taking photos here anymore. All this chat back and forth is nice, but most of us sure miss Zoomer’s weekend updates

I had neighbours who you’d hear, all the time. Then they moved on and the next ones were quiet as mice. This is a top floor corner suite I’m referring to so noise only came from one side of the unit.

In my experience living in newer buildings I've rarely heard anything coming from next door or downstairs unit, even in woodframe ones. Upstairs neighbors though, total coinflip depending on their living habits because no one puts carpet in the floor anymore.

Mpxuze interested to know if any of your new neighbors also feel there is a problem with sound.

There are some buildings I've lived in like the Bayview One where I literally heard nothing for years. Would sleep straight through the worst storms as well.

I've had many tasty dinners there at Ithaka! Hope they're doing well in their new spot!
I'm not sure what Trump has to do with it though.

Bayview One is really something special in terms of build quality. It really astounds me sometimes the level of detail that went into planning that building.

It still leaves us with the question of whether the Wade is substandard as far as sound insulation. We have one person stating that there is a sound problem compared to other condos he lived in. It would be nice to get other owners opinions who have moved in. Even nicer to get the engineering specs for the building but that might be a bridge too far.
I know that when I rented a condo in Vic West that, in my mind there were definitely issues with sound proofing from adjacent units. Not a major concern for me since I was only renting short term while house hunting but certainly annoying.

I am planning to move into the N building at end of March so will certainly weigh in.
With new units where all the furnishings may not yet be up (art, shelves, rugs, etc) perhaps there is more noise bouncing (refracting?) off surfaces; maybe that is a contributor at the early stages of move-in? Hoping that once people settle in and unpack, it may level out.

Yes, it’s quite the thing. It catered to former politicians and big time players when it was being marketed. I mean, one of Canada’s wealthiest men and women live there. It has to be nice.
Was it the promontory we had a thread on where the one person moved in and could hear normal conversations from the unit next door?
They were going to get it investigated.
