That is the 7th floor deck that is being prepped for concrete now, correct?

Yes, that’s correct.

With the concrete for 7 floors poured and the supports for the 8th floor in place, this project has now reached half its full height.

The nail in the coffin for those east facing 834 Johnson units.. watching those views disappear floor by floor. Owners their have gone from unlucky to down right robbed, can’t think of a worse investment in Victoria’s downtown condo market. Hopefully the new buildings add some positive change to the area at least

The Wave and it’s not even close.. or over! They still have the gym (sooner than later) and then the Provincial government office on Quadra, especially if they can now downsize and move employees elsewhere.

I am always a bit puzzled when people think a view, from any building in the centre of a city, is guaranteed to stay unchanged forever.

Rulon, what would Marko’s clients think if they saw you commenting like that on several of the units that he has sold?

i also think 1400 quadra - of a  places - was a very unlikely candidate to stay low rise ugly commercial forever.

834 buyers have already made lots of money on their investment.  sales began in 2009.

Additionally, based on the high demand for the less expensive one-bedroom suites in the Juliet development, The 834 has been designed to feature a great number of space-savvy one-bedroom homes with affordable price points starting as low as $198,900.

https://vibrantvicto...-in-2011/page-8

there are currently 4 for sale.  @ $399,900 to $524,900.

I can think of worse investments, I'm biased though I own a unit in 834. I bought 40k under appraised value, I took a risk assuming the area will not be a sh1thole forever. Also, my rental income is net positive so it's not a bad investment IMO.

It looks like all the windows are in on the podium and brick work has started around the parking entrance. The brick is a lot lighter than what was shown in renderings.

Is it not possible to get brick colour accurate in renderings? First Yates on Yates and now here?

The place at the top of Fort Street, too.

Referring back to the renderings, this light brick looks more like the stuff that was covering the tower portion. So now I'm wondering if there won't be much differentiation between podium and tower?
