The Royal's Float Plane Trip...

Spectators wait for the Royal's to arrive at the Harbour Air Terminal.  Looks like they're going in the first twin engine plane.

Did anyone happen to notice that the Chrysler 300c that Prince William and Kate got into yesterday had a licence plate starting in "007"?

I noticed it had BC plates.  Do we have armoured black sedans in BC?

Why's City Hall's flag at half mast?

Canada is bilingual...whether some people like it or not

I don't have any issue with French, what I cringe at are people who do not speak French trying to force their way through it.

I agree that can be pretty painful. I wish I had learned to speak it better when I was in school. The only good way to learn another language is through immersion.

You do realize Gary that somewhere someone on one of the innumerable British and Canadian security services detailed to protect Bill, Kate, the kids, Justin, Sophie and their kids etc, is at this very moment zeroed in with his own uber expensive hi tech camera or satellite on the guy in Promontory snapping all these pics with his camera trying to ascertain whether the Promontory guy represents a threat, right? :)

LOL thought about that but didn't want to alarm Gary - although you know they are all packing some serious lethal force gadgetry; seriously though consider as all of these folks were coming into town we have a possible terrorist incident happening right across the border killing 5 people - and the guy was on the loose for 24 hours.

My very first thought was 'wow the security teams will be in hyper-drive now' trying to figure the who, what, when, where - and was it coincidence that this individual just happened to be in this general area at the same time? We've heard nothing at all in regards but with the royals here in addition to Mr Selfie and Family, it would surprise me not one bit if there weren't a few of our J2F2 guys prowling (or swimming) about the harbour.....

After having watched London has Fallen last night, I'm not sure an old Mercury sedan, a Ford and a Fiat will be enough protection for our Royal visitors.

Ah, but that "old" sedan is actually a cleverly disguised Chobham/ceramic-armored APC, incorporating multiple 25mm Bushmaster chain-driven auto-cannons and a few FIM-92 stinger missiles tossed in for good measure.....
