I like that, they should actually do that anyway. But that doesn’t solve the downtown park dilemma.

Mind you, that parkland is not actually in downtown. It may have made more sense for the City to have bought the Y property eons ago when it was for sale, to then turn that land into a park, opposite Pioneer Park, now across the street from the children’s park.

It's solving the north park *****ing about not having enough park.  By having the new park in NP, at any cost.

Making the Y property a park doesn't shut the NPers up.

Hold on, North Park complains it doesn’t have enough parkland?

Know it all.
Citified.ca is Victoria's most comprehensive research resource for new-build homes and commercial spaces.

Where have you been?

YES, they complain they do not have enough park and will not give up one inch of the Crystal Pool park area if and when a pool gets built.  But they would prefer it built elsewhere so Central Park can be made larger.

https://npna.ca/crys...site-selection/

The neighbourhood associations of the City’s northern neighbourhoods (North Park Neighbourhood Association, Quadra Hillside Neighbourhood Association and Victoria Downtown Residents Association) support 940 Caledonia Avenue as the preferred location for the new Crystal Pool. Based on this, the NPNA, Downtown Residents Association, and the Downtown Blanshard Advisory Committee have put together a unified statement on this direction.

And they keep trying to make RAP a general park or dog park or both, when it's a high qualify sport field.

Converting the RAP parking lot is the only sensible option.

The City of Victoria is creating a brand new park downtown. My latest article goes into a just a few of the reasons I think this is a terrible idea. #yyj #Victoriabc #parks #urbanism

Is it possible to get the CoV to reconsider this ridiculous park idea?
