Once, I was in there and it was sooo packed that the servers thought I paid and I just walked out without paying.
I would not recommend the place to anyone. It's so bad.

It's definitely one of the most popular spots in Victoria, so you have to expect it will be packed. Obviously, it is overrated... that's not to say it still isnt' good (IMO), but it is just usually talked about as if it were divine.
I've never had a problem with the service, the workers there are all friendly and easy to get along with... the only problems I've had are a couple of them being TOO chatty while I'm trying to eat.
This past year the quality of food seems to have gone downhill though.

You can use this same logic when complaining about how hard it is for you to navigate thru downtown traffic* (ie. when you are part of it).
*You can complain about traffic in other places where the street can be widened into 4, 6 or 8 lanes.

I haven't been in a while. Pag's, the long gone Overtime and John's Place all have one hiring practice in common: hire people with attitude. I've actually had my spoon in my mouth and bowl was taken away beneath me. When that's happened, I've thought, "oh well, no need to leave a tip."

Why, dare I ask, is there no thread on it then?
Because then other people would show up, and they'd take our favourite seat.

They also have a Bakery / Store location on McNeil in Oak Bay.
This bakery/store is operated by the original owner not involved in the Blanchard location anymore.
