Every time an article is penned by a paper in the "big city" about any city smaller than itself, they call whatever is happening in the smaller city a "revival." For gosh sake, Vancouver Sun, there's no revival here, we're just expanding on what's already been happening over the last 15 years.

A new wave of residential and commercial towers is going up in downtown Victoria that is reminiscent of Vancouver’s downtown revival in the early 1990s.

Look here, Vancouver Sun, just because your writers haven't noticed what's going on since 2005 doesn't mean we're suddenly awakening to something new just because building heights are a little taller than they were in decades past :)

I actually saw that rendering earlier today in a Vancouver Sun article...

That's where I saw it as well. I suppose I should have given credit to the source. My bad.

I was more surprised that the Vancouver press is giving any coverage to Victoria's current building boom, regardless of what they are calling it.

This rendering has been around since they formally launched the marketing campaign (check the ad on the right and the icon atop this forum page [if you're viewing on a non-mobile device]).

I thought I had posted it, but I guess I forgot?

That version has a giant y superimposed on it. The one I posted has no such distraction. My sanity, such as it is, remains intact.

I think that's a wee bit smaller than the one I posted, with more sky showing.

Edit: and mine isn't cluttered up by a "Citified" logo.

We're currently waiting on a media embargo to be lifted for Vivid at the Yates, the affordable housing tower of the two.

Is Farmer the general contractor for both sites?

Farmer and Chard had a falling out years ago

Western Grater is doing the excavation and blasting at Hudson Place, and they also did the same for Yello. Farmer is one of the contractors on Yello but they are not involved with Hudson Place.

Western Grater doesn't do excavation, they are a blasting contractor.  RG is doing the excavation.  Farmer is a SUB contractor on yellow doing the formwork, they are only doing the formwork and that was simply to get revenge on Chard.  Farmer and Chard hate each other.  Kinetic is the construction manager on Yello

Really! It's a pretty small town and pretty strong language for what could be an insignificant dislike.
