The fact that Vivid owners (except the ground floor townhome owners) can't even open the pathway's gates with our fobs between 5pm and 9am has been a point of contention. so I find it a bit hard to believe that "many residents of the building have written to council opposing public access."

I suspect many non-townhome residents of Vivid and Yates wrote to council to say precisely the opposite and to ask them to allow public access. At least that way they would have access to the mid block walkway they were promised.

Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to locate townhouses in this location.

You have to do that to pretend you are catering to “families”.

The gates at 838 Johnson have been removed.

Yeah, noticed this the other day.

Basically, the gates on the VIVID and YATES side are useless now, as someone can stroll down the 838 midblock walkway and hope over to the other side without issue.

This perspective might show Yates on Yates at its best. But those top two levels really should have been set apart from the grey levels below.

These towers had great potential that was spoiled by rather poor quality exterior finishes.

Maybe the YoY was a homage to the White Stripes all along?

TOWNHOUSE 104.

An extraordinary opportunity to live OR work in two floors of Chard, concrete built quality. As a home, it offers 1224 sq. ft. over two floors, with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, full size Bosch side x side washer and dryer and Fisher Paykel kitchen appliances. There is also BENSON custom cabinetry throughout with quartz countertops, heated floors in the ensuite and an efficient Heat pump system for toasty warm evenings. As an office it features sidewalk access to a spacious patio for client entry, 10ft ceilings on the main, 9ft ceilings up, all cooled with a programable Heat pump. The main floor is a perfectly open area for client reception/consultation, with a two piece client washroom, as well as counter areas for work stations and a coffee/snack bar. The upstairs rooms would become private offices with their own private washrooms. The landing at the top of the stairs would serve well for files, storage, photocopier etc.
