AT&T gobbles up Time Warner

....in a deal worth about $109 billion when you factor in Time Warner's debt-load. With this move AT&T moves further toward achieving its goal of moving beyond being primarily a wireless and internet provider into the content and programming realm. This deal will also complement its recently acquired DirecTV satellite TV business:

According to Huffington Post (as of 2014) 90% of the media is controlled by six companies, which I presume is now fewer than that with this deal.

So, the government broke AT&T up just so it could become a huge company again?

Yeah... the president has little power to allow or not allow. That his problem. He has no clue how politics work. He thinks he would be becoming King....

My guess is content wont change, its a business play rather than a Murdoch-type deal where the content is wanted for its influence potential.

Time Warner canned my favorite auto news show.  It'd be nice if AT & T brought it back.
