ASE you bring up such an important subject. It's crazy how many blocks in Victoria, including very busy streets, have power lines running through them. They are an eyesore, and not the image we want to portray about Victoria to visitors. Not only that, but in many cases, BC Hydro has callously carved out huge chunks of mature trees to keep them from touching power lines. After a big wind storm the underground cables are just fine. Power poles, not so much.

Power poles can suffer damage from wind storms, but underground lines can suffer damage from flooding. And we've had plenty of incidents even in our region where we don't experience heavy rainfall but where areas flooded due to clogged drains and broken water mains.
There are benefits and drawbacks to both styles of power lines and putting lines underground in an urban setting is very, very expensive. Wikipedia says 10-14x more expensive in urban areas.

Ironworks launched with a starting price of $265,000 for units ranging from 325 to 571 square feet. Expect to pay more per square foot for a smaller unit than you would a larger unit.
If I were to pin a range it's $750 - $850 in today's market. Units below $450k are in the highest demand due to investment potential, first-time buyer incentives and affordability.

Its the Cross Fit Zone which offers. unsurprisingly, crossfit training and associated programs in addition to "Open Gym" time.

^There was a big party in there last night. DJ's, dancing, lasers, drinking, the works.
EDIT: As mentioned below it's LoLo Crossfit and Saturday they had a one-year anniversary fancy charity fundraiser. It's getting easier to visualize the dynamic Ironworks will bring to this changing area.

Thanks for the correction; one crossfit is as good as the next I suppose.

Unfortunately I didn't snap a photo when I hustled by in the rain last week, but the corten steel cladding is up and it's certainly a striking feature

My guess is the corten steel is going to make this project controversial, although I like it.

Oh yeah, it's a little tricky.

You have to scroll to the very bottom and click on "Full Version". It will look microscopic but you can do it if you have pointy fingers.
