No coronary on my part, but I have to ask, what is the issue with marketing WQ as being in Esquimalt? Could it be that outside of VV E-Town is still not a big selling feature?

Know it all.

^That's Greater Victoria's Inner Harbour! Of which the Township of Esquimalt is just as much a member agency as the City of Victoria.
In all seriousness though, Nparker raises a good point. Certainly less of a marketing appeal to say Esquimalt over Victoria, I'd imagine. You wouldn't see that in Oak Bay, would you?

Nope, Abstract marketed their building on the Victoria side of Fort and Foul Bay as being in Oak Bay
On another note I heard recently that demolition of the existing houses should commence shortly. Sorry, no one told me an exact date

It’s on Victoria’s Inner Harbour...
Technically, it's just beyond the outer harbour and specifically on Esquimalt's section of West Bay

All of the foliage/trees on this site have been cut down and piled up for removal this week. Clears the way for equipment to come in a demolish the existing structures.

Interesting. Actually at $368k for the 1 bedroom, those start to look seriously attractive. I bet you could have a great AirBnB business with one of those

20% price reduction on the ground floor live/work units...
Perhaps potential buyers discovered that West Bay isn't in Victoria after all.

Pros:
It looks and feels exactly like Victoria, it's closer to downtown than some Victoria neighbourhoods are, and it's cheaper.
Cons:
The CoV's politicians won't be representing you.

Buddy, that’s a selling feature

It's a long walk to downtown, especially the Empress and south of downtown, from West Bay, though a pretty one. It can be handled for sure, but you wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis. If you want to cycle, you have to go up a steep hill to Esquimalt Road and then have the bike path along Esquimalt towards the bridge. I'm not a fan of the area.
