What’s got people stirred up is that ferries must have known for hours about this staffing issue and could have sent an email blast, tweet, etc warning people who needed to get home to get home now or plan to travel over the malahat, or book a hotel etc. but chose not to.

Seems most ferries are cancelled for the rest of the day.
Based on the conditions downtown, this seems premature.

Of course, but there literally was NO wind in the city at the time the ferries were cancelled. There still isn't really anything happening outside my place.

What does that have to do with anything.
It has to do with the fact that in a relatively small distance the weather can be very different.
