Locals here aren’t worried much about their kids or whatever getting stuck, you get to be resourceful when basic services like roads and electricity can go down for days at a time.

What’s got people stirred up is that ferries must have known for hours about this staffing issue and could have sent an email blast, tweet, etc warning people who needed to get home to get home now or plan to travel over the malahat, or book a hotel etc. but chose not to.

Maybe they had assumed some people were going to cover, who didn’t end up covering?

Back to normal tonight. Looks like the Skeena departed fulford with six vehicles on it at 7:50.

Seems most ferries are cancelled for the rest of the day.

Based on the conditions downtown, this seems premature.

The ferry doesn't travel downtown.

It’s really about the conditions at the dock in tsawassen, but I suspect you already knew that…

Of course, but there literally was NO wind in the city at the time the ferries were cancelled. There still isn't really anything happening outside my place.

What does that have to do with anything.

What does that have to do with anything.

It has to do with the fact that in a relatively small distance the weather can be very different.

You're not usually snarky Matt. I'll put it down to your sewage issue.
