All this frozen rain talk turned out to be a pretty big nothing sando. Yawn. The morning crew said the roads were pretty bad, but they all made it in.

My place was an ice sheet all over the property.
Are you sure you weren't just looking at your outdoor ice rink?

Snowmageddon and icemageddon are officially over. Now comes rainmageddon and floodingmageddon. I suppose it's easier than saying prettynormalwinterweathermageddon.

T1018/9 pod was at work today, the dining room got a great view but lots of people on the federal wharf taking in the show too. The big male is named T1019B Galiano, apparently. The big one was really big.

Stealth camping guy spends the night at the ferry terminal pretending to wait for the boat:
I camped out for the night in the lineup at a BC Ferries terminal. It proved to be a good place to enjoy the evening with a food truck. If anyone is in Earls Cove please check out Sharon's Grill It (The food truck). I highly recommend it Decent camping adventure!

B.C. Ferries’ new president and chief executive is Nicolas Jimenez, who is leaving Insurance Corp. of B.C. after 20 years.
MacPhail is the board chair at B.C. Ferries and earlier served as chair of the board of ICBC.
Jimenez led ICBC through its restructuring to bring in no-fault “enhanced care” auto insurance.

“Mr. Jimenez, who is currently the President and CEO of the Insurance Corporation of B.C., was selected following an international executive search.”
After an international executive search they wind up with the guy next door? Man, it’s true, people really don’t want to work anymore.

Today, the Capital Regional District (CRD) Chair Colin Plant announced, on behalf of the CRD Board, that Ted Robbins will be the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Mr. Robbins will assume those responsibilities on November 7, 2022, with the retirement of the current CAO Robert Lapham. The CRD Board initiated an intensive, national search to fill the role this spring when Mr. Lapham announced his pending retirement.
“The Board is delighted to appoint a leadership candidate with years of experience at the CRD,” said Chair Colin Plant. “This appointment will provide continuity for the organization in the uncertain times we are experiencing, including labour shortages and supply chain issues. Mr. Robbins will also bring great energy, ideas and qualities to the role.”
Mr. Robbins is well known in the community having served as General Manager for the CRD’s Integrated Water Services since 2013.

They come to work and do busy work, or go home and get paid out of their time bank, or not at all. That’s pretty lame.
