They are going to be built in China, why waste money on an "investigation?"
I'd rather they do their investigating now rather than five years from now, after one of them sinks in Georgia Strait due to crap workmanship and-or materials.

China builds over 1700 ships a year, many still afloat, so I think we will be OK.

Seems as another has suggested, the best course of action is immediately build another deep double-drydock then use that dock facility to both extend the life of a few we are replacing, and also to build the new ones.
