The "by the code" reduced glazing on the project, really detracts from the overall aesthetic.

There's such a huge disparity between the materials used and what's shown in the renderings. The pale buttery yellow brick on YoY looked far more beige in the renderings. It looks terrible in person. The white and grey portions of the towers also looked fairly beige in the photos.
I walked past Vivid yesterday and noticed the podium is dark brown brick, not grey like I expected. The rendering also showed pale grey for the tower portion (similar to what's at the top of YoY) but it appears to be a darker brown-grey color.
I don't necessarily expect it to look exactly like the renderings but didn't expect completely different color schemes. I think Vivid will turn out to be the more attractive of the two buildings. I kind of wish the two buildings were swapped, given that YoY will now be a beige building surrounded by several other beige buildings (Capital Ballroom, Yates Centre, and The Wave). A darker brown would have broken things up a bit more.

I think the yellow brick actually looks pretty good. In any case, the colour of the brick in the scale model at the YoY showroom was fairly accurate.
But yeah, I agree that the Vivid's darker hues gives it a nice sophisticated look, so my preference so far is the Vivid. The siding on the tower levels does look a tad darker than the scale model, but I actually think the darker colour complements the Yates tower nicely. Otherwise there'd be too much neutral grey.

July 16. Looks like the colour scheme on levels 15+ will be lighter. A bit surprised, as this colour wasn't in the renderings or in the scale model. I like it though, I think it adds a bit more visual interest to the upper levels. Thoughts?
