A street connecting Douglas to Humboldt? They closed Humboldt to traffic at Douglas, but that was temporary?

They even put that stupid ping pong table there after relocating it out of Centennial.

You're suggesting it wasn't a smash? You try to put the same spin on everything.

No time for that. I'm too busy playing with myself.* Did I mention I have an oversized Head?**

Replacing a traffic lane with a bowling lane seems like more of a natural evolution to me as versus replacing a traffic lane with a ping-pong table. Think about it. You've already got the lane and you've already got the gutters, with plenty of room to spare. You can call me a turkey but I think it would be perfect. Everyone would have a ball.

Early conversations during the building approval stage could mean variances approved as council considers signage for the new Telus Ocean building at Douglas and Humboldt streets.

When the building was approved in 2021, the applicant intended to submit a “curated signage permit application” closer to project completion. Occupancy is expected in the next few weeks, and Telus is seeking to formalize the signage variance.

Staff is recommending council approve the variance – to permit signage above the sill of the second storey, an increase to the maximum size of individual fascia and suspended signs, and to increase the cumulative sign allowance along the Douglas and Humboldt Street frontages – when it comes up during committee Thursday (May 21) morning.

Huge signs green-lit for new Telus Ocean building

The two Telus signs are 15.4 metres wide and 2.9 metres tall, with a display area of about 45 square metres.
