One of Ebanks’ salesmen even used AI to identify the Stüssy logo on a suspect’s sweatshirt.
The trio clearly wasn’t made up of seasoned pros.
“No, these were not professionals,” Ebanks said.
Their sneakers, footprints, and timing gave police more than enough to work with.
The trio left the lot northbound, beside the Pat Bay Highway, cameras picked up a series of three motion streetlights lighting their path homeward.
Police confirmed three suspects have been arrested.
However, the damage is significant.
“Thirty, forty, fifty thousand dollars?” Ebanks estimated.

Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers
Dear Suspect,
We’d say that we hope this message finds you well – however, leaving a local business on September 24th around 0940am in the 700 block of McCallum Road without paying for $300 worth of butter has us genuinely concerned right now. That’s not a snack run, that’s a full-blown cholesterol crisis.
You also departed without paying for 2 packages of paper towel, which tells us one thing: you knew this was going to get messy. You didn’t just clean out the dairy aisle, you buttered up your escape and then wiped the evidence clean!
So suspect, if you’ve recently started baking in bulk, deep frying everything you eat, or generally glistening in the sunlight – you have some explaining to do.

One man has been sentenced for a dramatic shooting and arson that erupted at a home in Colwood in 2024, while another suspect remains at large, RCMP said Wednesday.
Abjeet Kingra, now 26, was sentenced to six years in prison for two charges – arson damaging property and intentionally discharging a firearm into a place knowing or being reckless as to whether another person was present, or being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.
A judge handed him a two-year sentence for the arson charge and a six-year sentence for the firearm offence, with the sentences to be served concurrently.
“In delivering the sentence, the judge acknowledged that Mr. Kingra’s involvement was not isolated, noting his connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi crime group in India and that he was acting on their instructions to commit targeted criminal acts in Canada,” said the West Shore RCMP in a statement.
Shooting rocks sleepy Colwood neighbourhood
On Sept. 2, 2024, around 1 a.m., Kingra and another suspect, Vikram Sharma, fired 14 bullets into the home of Punjabi singer and producer AP Dhillon in the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, before vehicles parked in the driveway were lit ablaze.

Oceanside RCMP File # 2025-9884 and 2025-10201
Following a theft at North Qualicum business, Oceanside RCMP arrested a 50-year-old man who was, at the time, wanted on several arrest warrants and found in possession of weapons and ammunition contrary to court ordered conditions.
On September 18, 2025, a North Qualicum retail store reported the theft of various items from their business. Investigators identified a suspect who was believed to be living in a makeshift camp.
In the early morning hours of September 26, 2025, the fifty-year-old suspect, Mark Calliou, was arrested at his camp located off the Lockwood Forest Service Road in Whiskey Creek. A search of the camp located a loaded firearm, ammunition, magazines, bows and body armour.
At the time of his arrest, Mark Caillou had active arrest warrants in British Columbia and Alberta for drug, weapons, driving, property, and failing to comply offences.
Mark Caillou made a court appearance on September 26 where he was charged with theft, disguise with intent, resisting or obstruction of a peace officer, possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to order, storage of a firearm contrary to regulations and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon. Mark Caillou was remanded in custody with his next appearance scheduled for October 6, 2025.
“The business had modern and operational video surveillance which allowed investigators to swiftly identify a suspect and work on locating and arresting him,” says Sergeant Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP. “Video surveillance was instrumental in solving the theft case, locating various weapons and arresting someone who was wanted by other police agencies.”
