I think the incident happened on Sunday?

But yeah, the machete woman has been identified by police. It’s only a matter of time before she’s apprehended.

Just goes to show that the best road rage response is to just keep moving.

Yes, it was Sunday. My mistake.

An early morning assault back in March that left two older women with significant injuries remains unsolved. VicPD has issued an update.

Update: Witnesses Sought After Random Assault Leaves Two Women With Serious Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

Victoria, BC- Major Crime Detectives are continuing their search for witnesses, including somebody who goes by the name “Royce” to come forward after an early morning, random assault in March.

On March 26th at 2:45 a.m. patrol officers were called to the area of Broad and Johnson Streets after the report of an assault. The two victims, both in their 60’s, were assaulted by an unknown man while they were waiting for a taxi.

The suspect then fled the scene prior to police arrival. The suspect was described as an Indigenous man in his early 20’s. He was wearing a T-shirt with a graphic, black windbreaker, dark blue jeans and a dark baseball cap with a flat brim.

The investigation has revealed that a man by the name of “Royce” sang a duet with the suspect the night of the assault inside Paparazzi nightclub. “Royce” is described as an older man with grey hair and a beard. He is believed to be associated to somebody in a wheelchair. It has also been determined that the suspect used the name of “CJX” when he was at Paparazzi.

Investigators continue their investigation and a motive has not been determined.

If you have any information about this incident you are asked to call our non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Well, this is a bit unusual:

https://www.timescol...otel-1.23810451

Saanich police are investigating a robbery early Thursday in which a hotel clerk was injured by two masked men who leaped over the front counter.

The clerk was working at the Howard Johnson Hotel and Suites on Elk Lake Drive about 4 a.m. when the men entered.

I'm rather amazed that it doesn't say "The victim was working in the 4600-block of Elk Lake Drive ..."   But also disturbing that the criminals here were so bold.

...also disturbing that the criminals here were so bold.

The security camera footage shown on CHEK News last night looked like it was straight out of a crime drama (insert your favourite program name here) on TV.

“This should be a good reminder to anyone intent on travelling to our fair city and engaging in criminal activity,” said Nanaimo RCMP Const. Gary O’Brien. “You’re not welcome here. You should make other travel arrangements and remove Nanaimo as a destination point.”

Wow. Really wish our city took the same stance.

^ He should have been accompanied with a sheriff to face outstanding warrants in Alberta.

If the charges in Alberta were serious enough I suspect that would have happened. But there is likely no room in the budget for that kind of thing anymore. Didn't we have a con-air type program years ago?

^ ...and that is why we are finding ourselves on this slippery slope of acceptable crime.

When does it become cost effective?

When is it worth persuing?

When is enough ....enough?

A law without a penalty is only a suggestion.

Talked to a HoJo insider today.

The perps roughed up the night clerk pretty bad. They convinced him to open the safe.

The clear solution to violent crimes like this: less police, less laws, less threatening uniforms.
