West Shore RCMP have released a sketch of their person of interest in an alleged sexual assault on the Galloping Goose Trail.

The incident took place on Tuesday, July 9, on a section of the trail near Sooke Road and Happy Valley Road in Langford.

Police say a 16-year-old girl was walking the trail at around 1 p.m. when she was approached by a man who asked her for directions.

this was while the escapees were still loose.

Victoria police are frantically searching for a missing woman who’s case has now been deemed high-risk by the department.

Investigators say 25-year-old Clarissa Adamick has not been seen since July 12 and was reported missing Thursday.

Police say there is nothing to indicate the woman is in mortal danger, but still consider her case to be high-risk for a number of factors. The only factor officers mentioned in a press release was the length of time she has been missing.

From fake guns to real guns.

🚔Loaded handgun seized from suspect during arrest🚔

On July 20th 2019, at approximately 5:40 am the West Shore RCMP responded to a complaint of an unconscious male who was in the driver’s seat of a stolen black Mercedes Benz coup on Six mile road near Atkins Ave in Colwood. Frontline officers attended the call and confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Duncan on July 18th 2019.

Officers woke up the male suspect inside the stolen vehicle and attempted to arrest him. During the arrest the suspect began physically fighting officers and a loaded 9mm handgun fell out of the suspect’s waistband. Officers were able to arrest the male and seize the hand gun. No shots were fired by either the suspect or police in this instance, however one of our officers did sustain an injury to her hand, said Cst. Nancy SAGGAR, Media Relations Officer for the West Shore RCMP.

This was a dangerous situation that was contained by our responding officers. We want to commend the officers for their bravery which lead to the safe arrest of the suspect, said Staff Sergeant Raj Sandhu, Acting Officer in Charge of the West Shore RCMP.

The suspect has been identified as 33 year old James WILKINSON. WILKINSON has been remanded in custody and charged with 6 offences including several firearms related offences as well as possession of property obtained by crime for the stolen vehicle.

Police Incident on Station Ave

On July 23rd 2019 shortly after 5:00 pm the West Shore RCMP responded to a police incident on Station Avenue in Langford.

West Shore RCMP are still on scene at this location. Several surrounding streets near Station Ave have been blocked off including, Peatt Rd, Orono Ave, Meaford Ave and Phipps Rd at Ravilo Place.

We ask that the public remain patient with police and stay away from the area during our investigation. Residents who live in the area are asked to stay inside their homes at this time. The West Shore RCMP will provide updates as they come in.

they responded to a police incident?

that press release is fairly low on the usefulness scale.

what if a resident wants or needs to leave or come home?

It also doesn’t identify the block. Station ave is home to a major Westshore Transit exchange.

It was on Station by Phipps. I hit their roadblock going home last night. I heard no more info other than standoff and shots fired. I haven't checked the news today for updates. Anyone?

Westshore RCMP said they would keep the public updated but there has been silence since their initial media release 14 hours ago.

After she gave him directions, the man shook her hand and pulled her into a hug, police said. He began kissing her neck before she pushed him away, at which point he thanked her and left.

Mounties are looking for a South Asian man in his 20s or 30s who speaks with an accent. He is described as five feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds with dark skin, a beard, brown eyes and dark wavy hair.

He was "fully cooperative" with investigators from the West Shore RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, police said.

"The investigation has been concluded and investigators have determined that criminal charges will not be forwarded in this incident," said Const. Nancy Saggar in a release. "We want to thank the public for calling in the tips and helping us with this investigation."

Your general complaint is valid but not supported but the information given.  ie. you are making sh*t up to support your worldview.

You don't need to do that - there are plenty of other real examples.  Don't diminish those.

ok well here are a couple scenarios that explain this turn of events:

1.  as i mentioned

2.  somehow the accused was able to show he had no criminal intent

3.  the complainant's story changed

4.  the suspect comes across much more credible than the complainant and/or had a different version of events

now remember the complainant went to the effort of reporting it to police and giving details to a person to draw a composite sketch.  she was all in on this investigation.  now if she changed her mind well i guess great.  if she duped cops well they should be smarter than her.  and stood down resources until the thing was better understood.

but the main point of the rcmp press release is the tremendous cooperation of the suspect.  if the facts of the case radically changed police should tell us that.  instead they leave out any useful information - again.  and then they wonder at the very same time why women don't report sexual assault more often.

so maybe i don't blame the rcmp for dropping the case but they have to do a much better job of telling the public why.

Possible. But regardless the guy should've been charged. Now buddy realizes he got away with it. This could escalate or at least he could do it again. Thank you RCMP.

Police responded to reports of a robbery in downtown Victoria Sunday and found a suspect whose description made him hard to miss.

The incident happened around 10:15, when a man described as 7 feet tall, with a prosthetic leg, walked into the 7-Eleven on the corner of Douglas and Johnson streets and told employees he had a gun.

The man soon became agitated and left, walking north down Johnson Street, police said.

Officers caught up with him a block away, where they found him sitting on a bench at a bus stop.

"He says he has a gun on him, he's agitated, he's a large male," said Sgt. Derek Tolmie of the Victoria Police Department. "Unfortunately, in situations like this, he's in charge. His actions dictate ours and he would not comply. Therefore, we had to introduce the bean-bag."

All that is fine analysis, but in the absence of information you filled in "cultural exemption" as the reason.  This is not supported by the article, so it must come from unshared insider knowledge or your personal bias.

That's not easy to do on a street that runs east-west.

Does this mean he simply crossed the street from the south side of Johnson and stopped moving?
