BC largest emergency communications centre has released its top ten 2019 don’t-call-us-for-this list.

Here is E-Comm’s list of top 10 reasons not to call 9-1-1 in 2019

1. To complain hotel parking spot was too small

2. To complain hair salon didn’t style their hair properly

3. To complain their neighbour was vacuuming late at night

4. Because they were upset the coin laundry machine didn’t have enough water

5. To enquire why traffic was so bad

6. To request police bring a shovel to dig their car out of the snow in front of their house

7. Because police are being ‘too loud’ responding to an emergency and requesting that they should come back in the morning

8. To get information about water restrictions

9. To report a broken ATM machine

10. Because a gas station wouldn’t let them use the washroom

Anyone call 911 to complain about their dismal response times?  :)

VicPD just now:

Our Community Services Division officers have responded to a sudden death in the 800-block of Pandora Ave. It appears to be non-suspicious at this time, but part of the area will be blocked off & #yyjtraffic in the area potentially impacted as we investigate. #yyj

I wonder if any of our local poverty pimps allow these near daily deaths to weigh on them? Do they rationalize their actions by fooling themselves into believing that there were even more deaths, fires, assaults, crimes before and they are making things better, or do they just not care as long as the paycheque comes in? You would think that there would at least be a few that recognized that their actions were contributing to the suffering and death.

It's ironic that this is the same block that houses the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions.

Off-Duty Officers Rescue Sex Assault Victim, Assault Victim In Hawaii

Victoria, BC – Two VicPD officers are being recognized for aiding two women while off-duty, on vacation, in Hawaii.

On December 20th, 2019, Cst. Hayley Swann and Cst. Brent Keddell were off-duty, in Kona, Hawaii for vacation. While doing a morning run and workout, they heard a disturbance, which sounded like a call for help. Both officers ran towards the sounds and discovered two distraught women who were being followed closely by a man who was in the process of assaulting them. One of the woman was visibly injured. The VicPD officers intervened and asked a nearby man to call 911. Cst. Swann stayed with the women to keep them safe, while Cst. Keddell moved the suspect away and stayed with him until local police arrived.

When local police arrived the suspect man was arrested without incident. The women were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The arrested man was wanted on warrants for numerous offences including arson. He now faces charges including kidnapping and sexual assault.

“I’m extremely proud of the actions taken by Cst. Swann and Cst. Keddell while off-duty and on a holiday,” Chief Del Manak said. “Their dedication to protect others who need help is part of who they are, both as VicPD officers, and as people.”

^ not even sure anything illegal took place there.

masturbating near a lake is not a criminal code infraction.

sounds like a good place for a family christmas light-up show.

Victoria police arrested one man and another was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after a Thursday afternoon fight in Centennial Square involving a knife and a collapsible baton.

Officers arrived at the scene after a 911 call just before 3 p.m. The incident was initially reported as an altercation between two men with knives, police said.

Isn't Prior Lake that's a stone's throw from that beach at Thetis Lake a nude beach? I've walked down there and encountered a group of a dozen people laying about fully nude, walking around fully nude, diving off the dock into the lake, etc. There's no signage whatsoever (or at least there wasn't) alerting you to the fact it's a clothing optional area.

Had a friend renting a room in a house in Fernwood they had some eccentric neighbours true story they caught them using a glory hole in the fence. They were pretty nice neighbours otherwise. Did really freak some of the roommates out.

i suppose it depends how private you are about it.  i don't think you'd likely get any kind of conviction if the incident is as described.

No

are you saying you can't masturbate outdoors under any circumstances?

what about discreet sex with a partner(s) in the outdoors/park? a public campsite maybe. or in your car van or rv in a bc ferries parking lot.

every night in downtown victoria dozens if not a hundred or more people relive themselves (urinate) in doorways and on streets.  are they also guilty of public exposure?
