There's a "temporary" housing facility in the 800 block of Johnson? The one I am thinking of seems pretty permanent.

Wanted Man Arrested After BarricadeTwitter: The 800-block of Johnson Street is closed as officers respond to a report of a barricaded person in a multi-unit residential temporary hosing faculty. #yyjtraffic will be impacted. Pls avoid the area.
January 13, 2021 - File: 21-1607
Victoria, BC – Patrol officers, working with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT), arrested a man wanted on several warrants after a criminal barricade today.
Shortly after 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13th, Patrol officers located a wanted man in a suite at a multi-unit temporary housing facility in the 800-block of Johnson Street. The man was wanted on several unendorsed warrants for failing to comply with a probation order in relation to an assault with a weapon file, as well as a number of drug trafficking offences.
The man refused to surrender to Patrol officers and barricaded himself within a suite at that location. GVERT responded to the scene, and after several hours of negotiations, deployed a loud distraction device. Shortly after 5 p.m. the man surrendered to officers without incident. There were no injuries in the arrest.
Traffic in the 800-block of Johnson Street was disrupted for several hours while officers worked to resolve the incident. The area is now clear of police vehicles and traffic is no longer impacted.
The man was transported to cells at VicPD where he was held to await court. This file remains under investigation.

^ ^^ If these guys are making so much money selling drugs why are they living in "temporary housing facilities?"
They should be renting a nice apartment somewhere away from prying eyes.
Are you kidding? There's like three weeks of rent pictured there

File # 2021-494
On January 8th 2021, the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit tracked down and arrested a 31-year-old male suspect who was wanted for several outstanding warrants including possession of a concealed weapon, theft and driving while prohibited.
The Crime Reduction Unit conducted covert surveillance and found the suspect in a vehicle with another male in Langford. Upon arresting the suspect for the outstanding warrants he was searched and police located approximately 60 grams of narcotics on his person. A suspected mixture of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine was seized by police. Officers also uncovered evidence of drug trafficking including drug packaging, drug scales, and over $2000 cash as well as shot gun ammunition. The suspect was also wearing body armour at the time of his arrest.
"The 31-year-old suspect was arrested for his outstanding warrants, breaching court ordered conditions to not possess any ammunition as well as possession for the purposes of trafficking. He remains in custody awaiting a court hearing. The second male suspect, identified as a 31-year-old resident of Sooke, was arrested and later released on an Undertaking for carrying a concealed weapon as police located a replica firearm on his person," said Cst. You don't catch fish by sitting in the middle of a field - you need to sit on the riverbank..

Victoria, BC – Officers are investigating after several businesses were broken into on Fort Street overnight.
At approximately 1:45 a.m. this morning, Patrol and VicPD K9 officers responded to a report of an alarm in a business in the 600-block of Fort Street. When they arrived, they discovered that at least five businesses in the building, including hair salons and a restaurant, had all been targeted. The suspect appears to have fled the area by the time officers arrived. The method of entry – the removal of glass – appears to resemble that of a series of break and enters that we alerted our community about earlier this month.
Investigators with our Forensic Identification Services section and our Investigative Service Division, along with Patrol officers, continue to investigate this series of break and enters.
There are key steps that you can take today which will help protect your business.
They include:
* Remove valuables from your business where possible when you close.
* If you cannot remove valuables or merchandise, move it out of view from all windows.
* Empty your cash drawer and leave it clearly displayed in a window.
* Review your surveillance system to ensure your system is working, is of useful resolution, and captures all potential areas of entry.
* Review your alarm company contact information to ensure you’ll be contacted in the event an alarm is triggered.
* Report damaged windows and doors, even if entry isn’t made. You can report these online 24 hours a day through online reporting and through our VicPD Connect App.
* Download our VicPD Connect App for alerts and easy reporting of break and enter attempts.
* Talk with your business neighbours, ask if they’ve had damaged windows, doors or other break-in attempts and share this list with them.
Investigators are continuing to work on the series of break and enters. We will continue to update our community on developments in these ongoing investigations.
If you have surveillance footage from the area or information about these overnight break and enters, please call our Report Desk at (250) 995-7654, extension 1. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

this robber is going to get caught eventually. but it's too bad we don't have the resources to NOW canvass surveillance footage from businesses to get a look at this gal. she's probably already on lots. her crime area is not very large. she seems to like fort street.
