Anyone know why there’s a chopper flying up and down the gorge?

Lots of RCMP and search and rescue at Esquimalt Lagoon concurrently.

Someone on CFAX said it was Fortis doing some surveying stuff...

A body has been found at the lagoon. WS RCMP have issued a statement:

West Shore RCMP have issued the below statement:

[Police are] advising the public that a section of the Ocean Bld road at Esquimalt Lagoon is currently closed for an investigation. There is no known risk to the public at this time. Thank you for allowing space for investigators to do their job.

Const. Meghan Groulx said the investigation is still in its early stages, and more information will be released as it becomes known.

Police are asking the public to stay away from the area to allow officers space to work.

Several witnesses at the scene told Black Press Media they saw a body being pulled from the water.

Police first warned the public of the investigation and road closure in a tweet around 12:30 p.m. Approximately one hour later, members of the BC Coroners Service arrived on the scene.

Patrol Officers Locate Loaded Shotgun During Road Rage Investigation

Date: Thursday, July 28, 2022 - File: #22-28429

Victoria, BC – Patrol officers located a loaded shotgun when they conducted a traffic stop as part of a road rage investigation early this morning.

Just after 2 a.m., Patrol officers located a vehicle in the 2900-block of Douglas Street which matched the description of a vehicle that had been involved in a road rage incident earlier the previous evening and had a partially obscured front license plate. Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop and learned the person driving the vehicle was prohibited from driving.

As officers prepared to tow the vehicle, the driver became agitated, and insisted that officers allow a third person to drive the vehicle home.

The driver’s driving prohibition stemmed from a series of previous criminal convictions for a variety of offences, which include firearm offences. In addition to the driving prohibition, the driver also has an indefinite firearms possession ban.

Additional officers arrived and performed a security search of the vehicle in advance of it being towed. They located a loaded shotgun inside the vehicle during the search.

The driver was arrested and transported to cells and was later released pending further investigation.

The vehicle was towed. This file remains under investigation.

If you have information about this incident, please call the VicPD Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Nanaimo gunshot victim airlifted to Victoria hospital; police still looking for weapon

A 43-year-old man is fighting for his life in a Victoria hospital after being shot in Nanaimo on Monday. A suspect is in custody facing an attempted murder charge, according to Nanaimo RCMP.

Mounties are still trying to locate the weapon used in the shooting — a sawed-off shotgun — and say it may be in the area around Northfield and Boxwood roads, near a homeless encampment where the victim lived.

The victim was taken to Nanaimo hospital and later airlifted to Victoria with life-threatening injuries.

A suspect, a 48-year-old man, was found quickly after the shooting and was taken into custody without incident, police said. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.

It’s believed he was also living in the encampment.

Nanaimo Tim Hortons suffers ‘significant’ damage following Tuesday morning arson

Aug. 2, 2022

Screenshot 2022-08-02 20.39.51.png

A Tim Hortons in Nanaimo ravaged by flames is forced to shutter for months after a late-night fire, deemed arson, caused thousands of dollars in damage, according to RCMP.

Mounties say emergency crews were called to the restaurant on Northfield Road near Nanaimo Parkway just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, after witnesses saw flames spreading quickly.

In the release, police said it appears the fire started near the front doors of the building before crawling up the wood beams found above the entryway.

According to RCMP, the Tim Hortons fire is likely linked to a pair of blazes reported at other nearby businesses also on Tuesday morning.

In a Tuesday afternoon update, police released surveillance footage of the Super Save Gas and Go fire suspect in hopes someone with information will come forward. In a photo, they’re seen carrying a gas can and wearing a hoody and black pants.

“..29/07/2022

The state capital of British Columbia was hit last night by the new Tyre Extinguishers of Victoria, who deflated 34 SUVs. This is their statement:

SUVs disarmed across Capital Region, BC, Canada

Last night, we (Tyre Extinguishers) disarmed 34 SUVs in Victoria and Oak…”: https://tyreextingui...ritish-columbia

The message is clear that everyone should carry a 12V or battery pack operated tire inflator.

The Daily Hive thinks the tires were “slashed” not deflated.

That’s what happens when you report the news by reading tweets.

To be fair, the other news media didn’t report how the air was removed. So I think many people concluded they were slashed. Even the statement from the group made it sound like a more permanent condition.

Speaking of extremists going off their rocker… I have been observing an idiotic plan of action/protest crossing the alternative media streams. I am compelled to post it here because it’s a crime in the making on multiple levels. Long story short, there is something known as the sovereignty movement. A belief that through a deeper understanding of the true and secret workings of the law, it’s history and language you can opt out of it’s constraints and obtain super powers to deflect authoritarian overreach. This movement is already under a watchful eye of CISIS and the FBI etc as a domestic threat for its use of “paper terrorism” as they coin it. As one can imagine this genre has been recruiting heavily over the last few years in the freedom/truther/conspiracy circles.
This new “talking head” in a black cowboy hat and a wink appeared recently by the name “Marcus Anthony Ray” who has “a plan” to end the tyranny. He has teamed with another sovereign guru “Christopher James” who has a larger established following. Their plan is to form a pose of “constitutional sheriffs to lead a “convoy” from across Canada and surround the RCMP training facilities in Regina, influence others to do so at their local police stations, and “sequester a courtroom and judge” somewhere to “present the evidence to the world” and have “those responsible for arrested”. They use the language of peaceful protest but insinuate the opposite. Not to mention unlawful confinement is anything but a peaceful protest.
Myself and many others are speaking out against this insanity in these communities, the police are aware and have even interviewed this character. However they are continuing to this promote this “action” in the alternative media and in person on speaking tours. It gets worse. They plan to do it on September 11 if you can believe that…. They have been trying to associate themselves with the truckers and other organizations that have been out front against the mandates etc. Most of these organizations have published statements making it clear they want nothing to do with this. Police on Guard, Veterans for Freedom, We Unify, for example have all come out publicly against this action. But it keeps going. I am worried that this is being allowed to happen or worse being encouraged. Perhaps there isn’t enough evidence to put a stop to it because they have remained ambiguous enough but why haven’t the RCMP issued a statement? Or alerted the media? It would be best to simply take the wind out of the sails of this.

I am posting this here for the record since I am concerned about the aftermath IF they manage to pull anything like this off. Both to the innocent people they rope into this and the gift it gives the media to portray anyone against the mandates as associated with such madness…

Thanks Truckers…

There's a decent chance radical fringe groups like this are sponsored (behind the scenes) by the government. The sole purpose being to discredit legitimate organizations who are concerned about the increasing government overreach into our lives.

By hostile foreign governments like Russia and China, perhaps ... but to suggest that the Canadian government is supporting these groups domestically is absurd.
