Why are all those men standing around, one sitting drinking coffee. What is happening psychologically there?
Shock. It's incredibly difficult for bystanders to process what's happening when faced with a scene like that. I see people all over social media criticizing them for apparently doing nothing. If someone was to intervene in a scene like that, there's a good likelihood there will be additional fatalities.

Then the one man sitting takes a sip of coffee.
Maybe this is a wake up call, for people to learn a martial art, to train to expect the unexpected. What if it was you faced with the threat, would you just freeze up, or fight back? I say you as plural, not to Sebberry.

Maybe it's time to fight back at the ballot box, where this problem actually originates.

As an older female, I would likely try hide or get far away from something like that. If I were a somewhat fit man, maybe try pick up a chair and whack the guy over the head? Throw hot coffee into his eyes at the very least. I can't imagine witnessing something like that. I inadvertently saw the video on twitter and hope to never see it again. That poor family.

Social media aids in arrest of sexual assault suspect in Nanaimo
Mar. 28, 2023
Nanaimo RCMP say a sexual assault suspect was able to be identified and arrested within 90 minutes of the alleged offence due to the word spreading on social media.
Around 1:20 p.m. on March 27 near 55 Victoria Road, a 27-woman was approached from behind, grabbed from around the neck and groped.
Police say the woman broke free and was able to run to her nearby workplace, a coworker was then able to take a picture of the suspect before he ran away.
The woman called 911 and posted the picture to social media. Police officers attended the area and tips started to come in due to the social media post.
Ranger was held for a court appearance on March 28, after which he is being held in custody until April 4.

Dramatic new video sheds light on March 12 shooting in Nanaimo
Mar. 28, 2023
A new video sheds more light on a shooting in Nanaimo that sent one man to hospital with serious injuries earlier this month.
Some hope the release of the video, which was obtained by CHEK News, will put more pressure on crown counsel to increase the charges for the accused and keep him from being released on bail.
As the camera moves around a shrub, viewers can see a person pointing a gun, and the video may show when it was fired.
Craig Truckle has been charged with pointing a firearm and has a long criminal record stemming back to 2003.
Those connected with the shooting say they’re concerned that Truckle has only been charged with pointing a firearm and that he may be released on bail, but Mulligan says investigations and charges take time.
Mulligan says charges are quite frequently upgraded given time and investigation.
Truckle was scheduled for a court hearing Tuesday, which was moved to Wednesday.

Sounds like there was a police shooting in Cowichan yesterday. A video shows a man operating a bobcat-style piece of equipment, being chased by police. Online commentary suggests the man was shot in the head. The video is not graphic: https://www.facebook...631538204044374

Ladysmith man in ICU, shot twice in the head after police chase involving stolen mini-loader
Davin Cochrane, 31, was admitted to the intensive care unit of a Victoria hospital
Mar. 29, 2023
Davin Cochrane, 31, was shot by police in North Cowichan on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
The fiancée of a distressed man is questioning how her partner ended up shot twice in the head by North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP on Tuesday night.
Davin Cochrane, 31, was admitted to the intensive care unit of a Victoria hospital clinging to life following a bizarre incident involving a skid steer he allegedly stole and drove recklessly around a North Cowichan neighbourhood Tuesday, March 28.
Sarah Annie Brown said authorities haven’t told her much except that her fiancé had reportedly been in a car accident earlier in the day and was due for surgery at Cowichan District Hospital but that somehow he had managed to leave the hospital and acquire the construction machine.
“I don’t understand what was going through his head,” Brown said Wednesday morning. “It’s not a normal person thing to do.”
Ashara Prokop watched some of the incident unfold from her front window.
“We just were sitting on the couch when we heard a large bobcat go by our road with the bucket scraping the road then saw a cop with his lights on go after him followed by the police truck,” said Prokop.
Witnesses reported no fewer than five police vehicles attempting to stop the skid steer machine in the Somenos Road, Glacier Street, Hawkes Bouvelard and Evans Park areas.
“We heard six shots fired,” Prokop said. “It was shocking to hear.”
Brown said she’s been told officers fired six shots, with two of them hitting Cochrane’s head.
“He’s on life support,” Brown said. “They had to remove a large part of his brain to stop the bleeding.”

Word is, there may have been a homicide in the city last night. Not sure if that's correct, or if that's the area where something went down.
