The Bergen fellow who owns Esquimalt Plaza also owns the Shoppers Drug Mart building on Douglas. I think he should do something with that building, too!

It will take more than paint and awnings to make that plaza vibrant. I say tear down and rebuild with some residential or office on top of it and parking underground.

Actually, it's not half bad. I used to get a haircut there every other week and the place was always crawling with characters. The upgraded design of Country Grocer was a big change for the mall.

I think he might be alluding to the niche clothing and crafts stores at Royal Oak plaza, OB Village, etc.
