It’s 10 PM. It’s rainy and miserable outside, but you’re curled up on your couch, cocooned in the softest blanket in the world. Your favourite Netflix show is on and you’re in full binge-watch mode. All is right with the world.

But wait…your roommate ate the last bag of popcorn, there’s no more ice cream in the fridge, and the nearest 24 hour grocery store is a 10 minute drive away.

Sound familiar? It happens to us at least once a week!

Which is why we were absolutely thrilled when we heard about Iced Victoria – a late night snack delivery service that will bring you your favourite guilty pleasures within an hour!

Perhaps the proprietors of Iced Victoria have enough savvy to employ some sort of refrigeration system in their delivery process.

That is very common in Argentina. Our Argentinian friend was shocked we had no ice cream delivery here.

What is the most oddball-flavored ice cream you've ever encountered in Victoria? Strangest concoction I ever came across, bar none, was in Omaha - beef, chicken, pork and shrimp-flavored ice cream with real chunks of each meat embedded in the ice cream. And yeah it looked as unappealing as it sounds. Suspect we're a little bit more mainstream here, heh....

The best ice cream I've ever had is violet in France. Amazing flavour, along with lavender and rose.

What is the most oddball-flavored ice cream you've ever encountered in Victoria?

 

In Thailand I once received an ice cream sundae topped with bread cubes--untoasted croutons. I'm unsure whether it was a local delicacy or a mistake. It was not good.

i wouldn't be surprised if it's common in hotter countries, especially those where not everyone owns a car with A/C, my parents regularly go to costa rica and just the short walk back to the hotel from the grocery store will melt butter! i can only imagine what how quickly ice cream would melt

Ice cream sandwiches in Singapore are literally a slice of ice cream between white bread, and they are absolutely delicious. The bread soaks up the ice cream as it melts in the 32 degree heat! Local favourites include sweet corn, red bean, and purple yam flavours.

 

The weirdest ice cream I have tasted was cucumber vodka, and the weirdest I have seen is parmesan cheese. Both were at La Casa Gelato in Vancouver, which is known for having around 300 different flavours (many of which are just variations of chocolate, but some are downright unthinkable)
