An artist's rendering of a five-storey, 15-unit purpose-built rental proposal for the 1800-block of Oak Bay Avenue. The project is planned to replace an aging 5-unit rental complex currently on the property.

It should be a slam dunk, so it will probably get fought tooth & nail. I mean, is the density "sensitive" enough?

Oh, there will be quite a bit of talk about 5 displaced affordable-rent households.  I imagine the political pressure will be on to give them some type of extra compensation.

I appreciate that a few people will need to find new homes in the short term, but in the end 10 additional residences will exist. How else does the region address the "housing shortage" if more homes can't be added without a huge brouhaha ensuing?

This design would be perfect to replace the aging housing stock in the CSV.

looks good to me. I had to look twice to see the parking entrance, which is a good thing.

The parking entrance is off Bank Street - correct?

I used to live on Bank and remember when the Radnor was built in the late 40's or early 50's.

The parking entrance has always been on Bank Street and would make no sense to have it on the Avenue.

In Bingo's day it was a big development controversy when they built Bank St. school.

15 units? Why bother

Because 16 units would result in full scale riots.
