A pipe bomb/explosive vest went off prematurely this morning in New York City injuring the attacker and three innocent bystanders in a busy central Manhattan transportation hub.

The man has been identified as Akayed Ullah, 27, a Bangladeshi man who immigrated to the United States seven years ago.

"Let's be clear, this was an attempted terrorist attack," New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said. - http://www.cbc.ca/ne...quare-1.4442450

Was it merely attempted? The man went through with the attack but his low-tech explosive device only managed to injure three innocent people.

Know it all.

Semantics really. He 'attempted' to cause much more damage, but failed. Gave three people minor injuries and took the worst of it himself.
