God I wish everyone would stop talking about this ugly piece of ****. As an architect, I would be embarrassed.
Yes how dare people discuss this building...in a thread dedicated to it? lol

Maybe the mods should spin off a second thread for discussing this building and reserve the original thread for not discussing it.

I recently completed my walkthrough and wanted to share several significant issues I encountered. I would strongly encourage anyone experiencing similar concerns to raise them with the developer. If multiple buyers are identifying the same deficiencies, a collective message may help ensure they are properly addressed.
Issues:
One of the rooms was not tiled in accordance with the floor specifications.
Several rooms did not include sliding doors as shown in the floor plans — most notably the walk-in closet entrance to the bathroom.
The primary bedroom wall facing the balcony was supposed to be a wall-to-wall window. However, only two-thirds of the wall is glass.
None of the bedrooms have installed ceiling light fixtures. The wall switch controls an outlet intended for a lamp. I was informed that reconfiguring the wiring would require hiring a separate electrician.
The kitchen island was not completed as a full waterfall on both sides, despite this being a paid upgrade.
There are a substantial number of cosmetic deficiencies — I probably marked at least 100 items during the inspection. There was still way more that I didn't get a chance to get to within the hour we were given.
I was advised that balcony-related issues would not be addressed. This is concerning, particularly in cases involving potential safety matters such as loose railings.
We were not shown our parking stall during the walkthrough...
We are paying significant prices for these units and should reasonably expect them to meet the specifications that were marketed and contracted to us. I encourage others to carefully review their units and document any discrepancies with their realtor and/or the developer as I already have.

We did ours today too. I was quite surprised how many they were doing today and that it wasn’t just the bottom floor.
Our unit was pretty filthy, no attempt to really clean it before viewing. Ours has quite a few paint deficiencies and some drywall issues were the tape has failed or they patched it for unknown reasons.
The main things for us was the floor and cabinets not being flush and the terrible design for the secondary lint trap that you basically can’t access. We were told this is the “final product” for these two issues but also told that all the other buyers had raised these as issues?
As to your points:
1 - What specifically was wrong? I didn’t think there was an option besides the optional manufactured hardwood.
2 - Yeah, it’s annoying for our bedroom as I’m not actually sure we will be able to fit a queen size bed without the door swinging into it. I’m not sure why they decided to have it open that way, the bedroom door is also massive.
3 - Yes, they told the city that it had to be done this way for the plumbing and gas. I have mixed feelings about this, would have been nice to have been told this, I suspect some people won’t notice.
4 - I was surprised by this too, you have to rely on lamps. My realtor said this is fairly common, I’m not a fan of it myself.
5 - We were missing one of the amendments that we “won”.
6 - We had lots of paint deficiencies. Some seemed like someone sanded a drip and never repainted it, quite odd.
7 - The balconies and railings in general don’t look great. Ours isn’t even remotely square and if you look at most of them they are misaligned or not level. I wouldn’t say ours is loose but it’s definitely not rock solid. They didn’t use a great contractor for the railings.
8 - I wasn’t too worried about about this. They have to give me a certain size parking spot, it’s my contract.
I’ll give them credit if they correct these issues. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting but there’s still room for improvement to meet my expectations for what was marketed and sold on. The exterior of the building still needs a lot of love, especially the concrete finishing and paint - that’s my main issue.

Sounds like a stinker of a building. You guys should be careful what grievances you post online. At this point I would probably not be interested in buying one of these condos… sounds like a nightmare. I would at least expect balcony railings to not be flimsy. Wth.
Most of these are pretty standard, so long as they are addressed by the developer. I wouldn’t say any of these are particularly unique. I had viewed a unit in the Proxima recently and the finishing was pretty similar - this was one being actively listed in a building with an occupancy permit.

My advice: be sure to get as many deficiencies resolved as possible before you close. In my experience, once the developer has your money it's far more difficult to get them to do anything. Yes there's a home warranty and you can make claims etc, but the process will be painfully slow.

Sounds like several people have gotten notice for Mid-April for occupancy.

Appears the 10th is the second floor and the 14th is the 3rd floor.

In order to avoid confusion re: the buttons in the elevator, they wisely avoided any reference to numbers and went with emojis instead. Thumbs Up is right below Smiling Face with Sunglasses, etc.

Are they in any position to take possession though?

I'm not surprised you'd take that position.

FYI: I understood what DavidSchell was meaning to say. It just looked funny as written.
It reminded me of the heady days of this forum, way back in 2007, when we were chock-full of ideas re: innovative new schemes for designating floors and levels.
--
If we gave floors letters instead of numbers we could placate superstitious idiots.
You could say I live on the Gth floor and my friend lives on the Fst and the restaurant's on the Mteenth.
--
We could switch to a new base... say 16
--
I like the letters idea, but the letters should be randomly assigned to each floor so there's no implied hierarchy (which could easily be translated back into numerical equivalents).
In other words, the lowest floor should be the Rrd floor, followed by the Jth floor, and so on...
Every building would be different, of course.
--
^That's very non-elitist, too. Eliminates the stigma of lower floors.
Why not live on ∏ or ∑ or Ω?
--
...perhaps the names of the floors should be impossible to pronounce?
--
I'm also keen on the idea of a single story that contains 14 mezzanine levels. I think that just might be the solution to the highrise controversy that we've all been overlooking.
--
Corporate branding is the answer.
