So at 10-storeys from the street, it's 13-storeys as viewed from Wollaston?

I think that may be so. The lower end of the development near Wollaston has always been 3 stories so you can say that’s not included in the main building which extends above it. It will be interesting to see if the Wollaston residents see it that way. The street is quite steep.

Ground floor is double-height, so technically only 9-storeys with a rooftop amenity. Drawings are attached to the meeting agenda, which you can download here: https://esquimalt.ca...m/Calendar.aspx

And a section, since it gives a better idea of the height

So from the looks of it, although the tower is shorted the floor area has been moved to lower levels. End result: it's probably closer to Wollaston than before.

Wider and shorter is the preferred local aesthetic, even if it creates large shadows and blocks more views.

This project will probably end up a 5-floor, wood frame, shoebox before shovels ever hit the ground.

There we go, thank you. So 12-storeys it is.

Do we know if it's still comprised of 54-units?

Wow, that's not what I expected. The earlier proposal had 54 condos and three townhomes. I assume the current count is 66 condos and three townhomes.

Esquimalt town council approved this project after a public hearing last night. The total number of units was reduced to 66 and a requirement introduced to assure the medical facility would be for primary care.

It looks like the folks who own the building on that lot have agreed to have their site rendered with that height and massing, showing what’s possible for that site.

This is an amazing video. I've made a screen cap in case you can't view it.

The worker allows the pedestrian to pass just as the structure collapses and the poor guy hightails it out of there when it almost falls on him.

Three seconds slower and the guy would have been creamed by that beam that got launched at the far right.

I feel like they violated the demo permit in some way there...
