I think we can thank Obama inpart for not blocking 18,000km of new pipeline in the US.... that sure goes a long way to make them an oil power while throttling our ability to grow our economy

Absolutely.

Now we wait and see what the death of NAFTA will bring.

It's nonsense at this point to claim Trump's policies have been some massive economic success. It would also be nonsense to claim they have been a disaster.

 

Three quarters reported GDP under Trump. Growth was 1.2%, 3.1% and 3.2%. This is decent but not exceptional.  Obama presided over 32 quarters.  7 were above the 3.2% growth rate that is now claimed to be exceptional (several were also much worse).

 

There is no real evidence (yet) that there has been any big change in growth under Trump. But we can at least say he hasn't screwed things up yet either - at least not on the economic front.

 

Facts are hard sometimes. 

 

 

 

For comparison, BC's GDP growth has averaged 3.5% over the past four years. Alberta's was 4% in 2017.

Nowadays, 3.2% would be considered a torrid and somewhat unsustainable pace of growth. Will the MAGAns be so quick to give Trump the blame when things dip, or will they find yet another way to blame Obama?
