^ How about you guys take this somewhere else? Maybe a private message or meet for a beer.
Look I get it. A person puts their name forward for a political position with an agenda that some might cosider is somewhat controversial. This is why this thread has produced 9 pages of opinions in as many days.
Some might believe that city council should worry about road conditions and others lean more towards social issues. Vibrant Victoria is a place where we can have this discussion...but let's stick with that discussion and not drill down into semantics.
I thought that turning the tent city lawn at the courthouse into a children's playground could be a waste of taxpayer's money because I didn't think that that area had that many children. I was wrong. Every time I drive by, it is chock full of little tykes having a hoot. I've been wrong before and I will be wrong again. I am very glad that someone had a different vision than mine.
I live in an area that I do not want to see changed. Hell we even have an "urban containment boundary". You know...an invisible political boundary put in place to keep urbans out. This is elitist in so many ways I can't believe I am even bringing it up.....but it's there. Will this change in the future? Maybe...maybe not....but not without a big discussion first.
My father used to say that everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if it is wrong.
So please let's keep to having cordial discussions.
