The Chicago Bears are …leaving Chicago and moving to Indiana? Crazy.

Chicago has become such an over-taxed city that even the Bears have had enough. My goodness.

Or maybe the billionaire owners are just using the threat of moving the team to the suburbs 30km away to extract as much free taxpayer money as possible. The same scam that has happened 100 times in the past decade across all major sports.

The location, Hammond Indiana ,is part of the Chicago Metro area. The metro area is about 10 million people. I'm sure land is cheaper on the outskirts of the metro area.

30km for Chicagoland is nothing, really. It’s a massive metro. Just their one airport is larger than all of Esquimalt.

This is pretty common. The New York jets and giants both play in New Jersey. The Washington commanders play in Maryland. The 49ers play about 70km away from San Francisco.

The best sports stadium experiences I’ve had have always been when the venue is in the heart of the city. Typically older baseball stadiums and European soccer stadiums

Meanwhile, the owners of the White Sox have been claiming they need a new park closer to downtown. Relocating by ~2 miles will make all the difference re: the success of their business.
