For those adrenaline junkies who enjoy white water I would heartily suggest the Nahatlatch River about 4 hours up the canyon from YVR. Its just above Hell's Gate so you get the picture of what the conditions are like. Not for the faint of heart the Nahatlatch is a Class 3.5-4.0 river (Class 5 being the most intense rafting experience and reserved only for the most experienced rafters).

If you're game however and a fan like us of truly white water, for 3 nights camping, all gear including wet suits + all meals included, and two runs down the river (each run is 3+ hours and you'll be shattered by the time you're done, and need 24 hours to recover for the next run the next day), total cost all in is a bargain basement $300.

We're all in our mid 50's and decided we wanted to do this again before we get too old, too fat, or both, to fit into the wet suits.

This shot is from our trip in June; that's me in the stern in the red helmet closest to the camera. Us bigger boys always wind up as ballast in the stern which means we get the best view of the upcoming mayhem. Hard to believe but there are actually six others in the raft submerged under all that water. Shooting the Nahatlatch is kind of like being semi-submerged in the world's largest washing machine amped up to full power. Such a a blast and highly recommended. We did this run initially as a bucket list item in 2005 and again in 2010 and quickly got addicted. This was our fourth time and I suspect not our last....
