Wow, that'd be such welcome news for that mall if indeed the work relates to an upcoming tenant.

^ No clues in the issued Building Permit... "Replacing brick and flashing on exterior of mall (Previously Sears)"

our population is within the (very wide) range of what walmart will have per capita in terms of stores. between 2 and 12 per 1,000,000 population.

Whoever entered the BP information is leaving everything up to the imagination, unfortunately. The description is simply, "Tenant improvement." No guarantee this this BP is for the former Sears space, as there's no CRU info given, either.

 

EDIT: I realize now the underlined application is for an electric permit, not a building permit. Would still like to know if this is a new or existing business, though!

Would be cool but considering Vancouver is only now getting them, I'd say we are a ways off

Take into consideration that the first one opened in 2016.  Metro Vancouver has two on the way, as one is going in at the Brentwood Town Centre redevelopment. So far there are two in Edmonton, one in Calgary, one in London, and one in Toronto. The next two to open are in St. John's and Mississauga.

 

If Newfoundland can get one, Victoria has a chance.
