Not a great deal of progress yet on the window/spandrel installation.

At least it's a start!

That’s a very different colour compared to what we’re used to seeing.

Updates from Johnson st...

The new windows are so heavy they caused the building to fall on its side! Let's hope this helps.

I think the colour looks great.

Back in 2019, someone in this very thread said:

I just don't dig that spandrel striping effect. I could have sworn there was a controversy on the interwebs somewhere about excessive amounts of seafoam spandrel on new buildings?

As for my own opinion, I'd say excessive amounts of green spandrel are not the kind of thing we should be particularly thrilled about. However, in this case it almost seems like a breath of fresh air compared to the glut of plain grey, beige, and white panels on other major new buildings in Victoria.

Kudos to LetsGetIt for going out and getting fresh pics. The message got through. Or maybe he/she just gets it without even being told.

So how do folks in 989 Johnson feel about the impact of this building on their views? Any grumblings?

Wait a sec, on the Johnson Street side wasn't that section of the building supposed to NOT have the green panels?

Older renderings showed a scatter pattern of windows and grey and white panels, or so it seems. The green striping was mainly along the leaning face.

I mean it was known that a tower was going up there, but I will say the green is a lot more vibrant in person. It will be interesting to see once the glass is finished.

Where are we; some eastern block country; soviet union, perhaps?  Terrible colour choice.

I rather like the green panels. It's a nice change of pace from the white/grey we've been seeing so much of lately.

Yup - big chunks of my view contain the Wave and Yello. I would massively prefer something cool and different like this.

Mods: maybe you could change that forumer's name to "LetsGetItOrElseYou'reGonnaGetIt"?
