I think the new Crystal Pool is dead. Re-do the plumbing and plan to replace it in ten years.
That might be almost enough time to decide on a site.

Imagine if the city goes ahead and blocks of Vancouver St. in those two locations. You'd have tents in them now.

...parking near Ogden Point will be closed over the long weekend for bike lane construction...
What a terrible use of public resources at this time.

To be fair, completing as much road construction as possible right now seems like a pretty good idea.

Then the CoV should work on the hundreds of roads that need repairs and repaving, especially with the current reduced traffic volumes.

Dallas Road is a pretty good place to start. It was nothing but rubble before the sewage project. I'm not saying it is the only bad stretch of road, but it is work that clearly needs to be done, and traffic is down now. Reflexively calling it bad because bike lanes are part of the work doesn't seem like a fair assessment.

Dallas Road on a sunny weekend is certainly not quiet. With the virus, more people than ever would like to go for a scenic drive.

If the CoV doesn't have to make fair assessments of which roads get repaired, why should I?

This is really a CRD project.. COV assists with some design but not construction of the lane etc.

As a taxpayer it all comes out of my wallet. There needs to be a region-wide rethink of priorities.

I was downtown yesterday and saw loads of road repair happening on Douglas near Yates.
Take a stroll through Oaklands sometime and tell me if you see the same sort of road repairs.

^It looks like they've just repaved large chunks of the right lane on Yates west of Cook. Now if only the same could happen from Cook up to where it meets Fort...

Even Oak Bay has been neglecting their roads lately - the Beach Drive scenic route is getting pretty bumpy.

What about Helps' new partnership opportunity they were promoting a couple of months back?

What about Helps' new partnership opportunity they were promoting a couple of months back?
Why do the words "Helps" and "partnership" seem so oxymoronic to me?
