I’d have been funny bad Bernie been in this council’s photo, and in Collins’ spot.
Collins is too right wing. Bernie is there to restore balance to council.

Living in Victoria feels like living in a reality tv series that's a bizarre combination of the office, real SJW's of Southern Vancouver Island and mean girls. We have a council that have created the conditions where the things that are flourishing are not the things that make for a vibrant community.

Then can it please be cancelled immediately. The ratings must be terrible.

Is it true that Isitt is now the community liaison for Fairfield? Sounds like a can't-miss idea. Will he be rolling out an affluenza vaccine?
I feel sorry for the poor people of Fairfield. Life will never be the same for them.

that's what i hear... and that's where they placed the new community care tent without neighbourhood consultation.. i'm sure he will be open ears to the neighbourhood when they complain to their community liaison about the issues in the neighbourhood
sounds like a huge conflict of interest to me.. since the tent is run by red cedar and he runs red cedar

Whether people are smashing windows inside the US capitol, smashing windows in Portland or smashing windows in downtown Victoria , it is all "justified" as the cause is so "noble". A Director directing tens of thousands of dollars of public funds towards your own agency will always seem "justified" because of the "cause".
It's a form of religion. The type of religion that takes over sane thought. We just had Issit, a UVIC Historian, just quote that the Halifax explosion was caused by the Canadian DND. He is blind to fact except for his ideology.

It is the new era of socialism, the truth is whatever those in power claim it to be. Those who attempt to correct the 'truth' will be cancelled.

Notwithstanding the fact that history proves that sometimes a few well-placed bombs and some smashed windows are essential for gaining justice, we should still question the cozy relationship between a politician and the "solution" offered to City Hall.

Hold on, it was though, right? I mean, it was a French civilian ship but it was the Navy who decided busy Halifax harbour would be a dandy place to store munitions.

Which runs the risk of some Charlottesville copy-cat with a pickup saying gosh, it was an accident.

It seems pretty well marked now and those concrete blocks are pretty solid. I doubt granny in her Yaris will do too much damage.

I still have an issue with an active politician sitting on boards etc...
Especially considering that politician claims to be overworked and underpaid as a CoV councillor. Where does he find the time for this?

I still have an issue with an active politician sitting on boards etc. Way too close for comfort IMO.
Even if they follow the conflict laws exactly to the letter, you're still a person down on crucial decisionmaking.
Case in point, Dean Fortin when he was on the Burnside board, any time something remotely related to the community association came up he had to step out.

I find it remarkable that so many of them seem to have been unaware of this. The care tent issue is nothing new. The Avalon edition of it was on the local media as well as being extensively discussed on this forum and elsewhere. Cook Street was clearly identified as a likely alternate at the council meeting. Council is well known for injecting “homeless” services into neighbourhoods without consultation. If anyone was surprised they really haven’t been paying attention.

Lisa Helps said on CHEK that if the addition of this tent were meant to be permanent, they would have consulted thoroughly. But this is an "emergency" situation.
