Was Ben Isitt looking down from mount crumpit, tapping his long green fingers?

At least the original Grinch's heart grew. Not sure that's possible with Grinchisitt.

Took in the Island Farms Santa's Light parade tonight; there was a very festive and huge (40K + maybe?) crowd on hand. Always nice to see so many little kiddies wide eyed waiting on their favorite jolly elf to make his appearance.

Overall I thought it was good other than a couple of extended gaps between performers/displays. Everyone was very well behaved as far I could tell. We were perched right at the corner of Broad and Government and the other nice development was seeing folks on the second/third/fourth floors of many surrounding buildings enjoying the spectacle from windows or decks. A dense® downtown with more residents is definitely a livelier more energized downtown for sure.

I am sure this was a direct result of bike lanes, ping-pong tables and "free" youth bus passes.

I thought it was going to be in place for the Santa Claus parade. I must admit I don't venture into CS any more than I absolutely have to these days.

I thought it was going to be in place for the Santa Claus parade.

In October, the DVBA announced plans to transform Centennial Square into a light village, similar to Enchant Christmas at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The event was supposed to run from Dec. 13 to Dec. 30.

The Lights of Wonder was purchased for $500,000 by the DVBA.

Zoomer’s love of protests in downtown Victoria is keeping him hopping this year.

The BC Legislature just announced they are cancelling tonight’s annual Christmas light-up event due to a protest.

Those looking for a family-friendly seasonal event can go elsewhere, I guess. VicPD says CCTV cameras are being deployed.

See you on the live-feed, zoomer!

https://lightsofwonder.ca/ the lights of wonder is still happening.. or atleast hasn't been cancelled yet...

the island farms/Peninsula Co-op Santa Light parade is happening on Saturday.. it says it's going down government as always but with all the changes they made to the street to block off traffic flow over the last two years i can't help but wonder how the floats are going to go down government

and next week (dec 4) there is the light truck parade which is always a great one to catch (and many places along a huge route to catch it) https://www.ieoa.ca/...convoyinfo.html
