My wife and I bought our house back in 1998, however we were not married at the time.

We put the house in her name because it was easier at the time.

The only name on the title is my wife's and its in her maiden name, she received the spec tax form, addressed to her only.

Is it correct that she's the only one that has to deal with this and I don't have to do anything?

Thanks so much.

I'm no expert but I'll speculate that if your name is not on the mortgage the government doesn't care. You're just some dude living there.

Our title has my Wife's name and mine on it, we each had to submit the on-line declaration form.

With only one name on the title, only one declaration is required to be submitted.

You're golden.   :)

the 31-year-itch is right around the corner.  have you noticed any changes lately?  for example has she bought a $70,000 convertible without consulting you?

I'd speculate that VV has another thread re this topic and I am not sure there needs to be two.

Sorry Bro, I didn't mean to piss anyone off.

I got stone walled with that 45 page thread...It didn't answer any of my questions.

Please accept my apology.

I wasn't in the least p-o'd. Just wanted to alert the mods to consolidate threads, which I believe Mike will be doing. S'all good man.
