Interesting. Would suck to not be able to leave the drive way for 2 hours every morning and afternoon

The building actually fronts onto Raymond Street South, so no direct connection to Tillicum from the actual building location. Residents can enter/exit Raymond Street S via Tillicum Road (further north) or Interurban Road.

Disagree. You could shoot baskets, work on your slap shot, do some chalk art... being trapped in your driveway is what you make it.

Residents aren’t opposed to development, he said, but rather oppose trading daycare for housing – especially when the district’s 2020 Childcare Inventory and Action Plan says current childcare spaces only meet half the demand in the region.

After Abstract bought the land in 2016, the existing building was rented to Compass Childcare on a fixed-term lease – though a daycare was never part of the long-term plan, said Mike Miller, CEO and founder of Abstract.

Councillor Colin Plant voted against this proposal, because “of community fit,” he said.

But at the same time the councillor says “I just checked out a local #yyj news website poll and found this result. I really wonder what this unscientific poll tells us about our collective humanity. Or the media outlet's targeted demographics,” via Twitter.

So rejecting a condominium because “of community fit” is not a problem, but residents upset over BC Housing unilaterally deciding to situate supportive housing bigger than anything else in immediate areas and with an unknown operating model is a challenge to “collective humanity.”
