House cordoned off, investigators on scene of police incident in Brentwood Bay
Central Saanich police officers and the Vancouver Island Major Crimes Unit are on scene at the home
https://www.saanichn...-brentwood-bay/
A number of police officers, including the Vancouver Island Major Crimes Unit, are in a neighbourhood in Brentwood Bay in what appears to be a serious incident.

One home is cordoned off and at least four marked police cars along the street, who have been at the house for a number of hours.

One person is dead and two others in serious condition after what Central Saanich Police are calling a “very violent struggle” in a Brentwood Bay home late Friday night.

Police Chief Les Sylven told Black Press Media Saturday morning that one man has been arrested and is in police custody.

3 miles apart and 6 years.  a stretch to suspect a link.  saanich police also said the recent attack the suspect was known to at least some person/party at the residence of the assault like he might have been at a gathering or party there earlier and knew the victim was sleeping over etc.    their lengthy investigation went down that path - to some type of known associate. there was no dna database match or anything.  they just started with "who knew you were sleeping right here in this spot tonight?" and worked that backwards to one or more persons of interest.

Chapman is 48. the victim is a 20-year-old female. that’s not a common pattern in a murder case.

I couldn't find anything on him. But found this yesterday.
Shock at killing of girl of Maltese descent in Canada
https://www.tvm.com....cent-in-canada/
The Maltese community on Vancouver Island in Canada is in a state of shock at the death of a girl of Maltese descent.

Also there was a four year old boy found hiding in the house. So tragic.

One Victoria-based amateur news site has already solved the riddle and concluded who did what, and to whom.

The defence lawyers are going to have a field day with that one.

Why? Doesn't every rag out there put out a story when a murder occurs in their area?

It does, but it doesn’t matter of factly identify a perpetrator as guilty. Even an individual charged with a crime is “alleged” to have committed it.

Victoria’s amateur ambulance chasers have already concluded who the murderer was and what he did in a matter-of-fact article.

^ which article specifically are you referring to? Usually they put a disclaimer at the bottom of the article like 'the allegations have not been proven in court' or something like that.

This article has a bit more on the relationships. Home owner.
https://www.vitadail...ying-1.23820394
The home is owned by Doris Caruana, a widow whose husband Victor died in March. Emily is Doris’s granddaughter, according to those who know the family. The two people injured were Doris’s son and Emily’s boyfriend.

If he has already been charged with 1st degree...is that premeditated?
