If G-Man would get off his duff and explore the world a bit maybe we could avoid such confusion in the future.

Ping Pong Park has a nice ring to it.

Sounds like a minor character in a John Hughes film.

Sometimes it’s not about what it is about.Recreation & health and fitness have always been city-funded expenses. I don't understand the uproar - certainly $6K is cheaper than most park play structures.
People are fed up with how Ms Help over steps ,over spends and over thinks her personal pet projects importance to the people of Victoria.Yes she is under the microscope, that’s not going to change. She is only a mayor of a small municipality in Canada .How many actual air miles has she racked up traveling
on tax payers dime increasing the carbon footprint. All the while complaining of the evils of store grocery bags . Hypocrite

Isn't that funny. I was in Seattle this weekend, and at one point I passed through Occidental Square which is lined with bakeries, eateries etc. At the southern end were a number of outdoor games, including jenga (using 2x4 segments), beanbag toss, foosball, and chess, all of which were in use at the time. Attached a photo I snapped while on my way through.

But the table was back on Tuesday morning, and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, according to a City of Victoria spokesman.

I'm glad the table is back, though with the construction next to it for the Starbucks, it's been less fun to play there lately. Usually the breeze isn't a big factor, and the ball has yet to roll into traffic, despite me being amongst the worst ping pong players ever.
I'm also glad the bollard is back. I watched an older dude drive along the bike lane there last week, in a big wide old sedan, from Humboldt Street right into the middle of the intersection. That certainly stopped traffic and dropped some jaws.
BTW there's also a ping pong table outside of Pag's. Pag's supplies the rackets and ball, but the table is in a pretty slanted and squished spot. Get out there and play - enjoy the drought/heat/end of the world.

Table has been disappeared. Probably in the closet with the Cook and John A. statues.

The concrete ping-pong table near Humboldt Street downtown was temporarily removed while city workers repaired a nearby bollard.

They'll just replace it. The taxpayers' pockets are deep.
